Playing 3 at the back and Johnson and Kelly on the left and right of the midfield respectively.

Good on the whole for the first half.  Kuyt has been very good up top (but of course, I would say that Cheesy).  Without their keeper, Liverpool would have had one or two in the first half.  Two great saves that Begovic belief.

Goal from Mereiles.  Lovely finish after some fortunate ricochets from a Gerrard free-kick.

A few raised eyebrows with regards to the formation, but it's working well against a gritty Stoke.

3-4-2-1

Six/Seven defenders on the field, but seems to be genuine tactical innovations to me

I like the ideas.

Well Johnson had the best chance of the first half and he's being encouraged to go forward (as has Kelly).   The formation seems to be giving Aurelio, Mereiles and Gerrard room to play and spread the ball around.  Also giving Agger license to play a lot higher and encouraging him to join in with the attacks.

Still only one goal though, and Stoke will get chances.  Probably more so now Delap is on and Salif Diao is off Cheesy

Luis gets his Anfield debut...coming on for Aurelio.  Don't know if that means a change in formation or not?  I'd assume he'd go up front with Kuyt...

He's not seen much of the ball, but just shown a lovely bit of skill in the area.  Nearly put Mereiles clean through.

Still nervous whilst it's still only 1-0...

Stoke straight up the other end, and needs a good reaction save from Pepe to keep it out.  The first shot Stoke have had on target in the whole match.

Suarez went round the keeper for his goal, sort of scuffed his shot and the defender tried to keep it out, but put the ball against the post and it bounced across the line and the spin took it into the goal.  So...maybe an own goal?

Gerrard and Kuyt have both been very impressive tonight.  The whole team looks a million times more confident and they seem to be enjoying their football now. Yes, we should be expecting to win these games, but this season that hasn't been the case at all.

I've just read that Adam scored directly from a corner tonight for Blackpool.  Obviously he's let the transfer talk get to him Cheesy
