and doesn't go xmas shopping when his team plays.

all the crying over this by villa fans made me laugh. they seemed to miss the fact that they're the only people in the world who wouldn't rather go shopping than watch villa play

Hey Mantis I remember your rousing speeches about Carroll when we first signed him, the whole caveman thing with him stomping his way round the pitch, you convinced me he was gonna be good !

So on the back of that what about Darren Bent!?!

Podolski is only 26? wow had him pegged as alot older than  that

meh, we all know you're a Darren Bent fanboy so that wont help you remain impartial, personally I would prefer not to see photos of Liverpool players out enjoying themselves whilst the team is getting turned over, surely Its not that big an ask to at least stay in for the duration of the match and pretend you're watching?

nothing to do with it being bent. I can't imagine anyone would choose to watch villa play if they didn't have to

but on the subject of bent obv I think he'd be amazing for you, you're gonna win the title with charlton old boys, jonjo feeding bent

Carroll's having the same problem as Torres in they're both players you need to build the attack around and that's not happening so much at either club. And neither are getting a run of games to get into a rhythm. I don't think it's plausible to spend £35m on a pure striker one window and £30m on the same position next window. Especially because AC is still young and hasn't started many. Bringing in a pure striker shows Carroll you have no confidence in him just as he's about to go on an important run of games. If you aren't gonna let him use this chance to establish himself and make him the main man for next 8 games that was £35m very poorly spent imo. Still think caveman Carroll will come good with time and you should persist with him rather than spending another £30m on a player who has had less touches of the ball than any other player this season. Versatile Podolski can help the supply to make this AC situation work but can move inside if it doesn't and he's experienced at playing alongside a big man.

Think just about everyone but Dalglish and Commoli knew that.

very much this

not playing him for 8 games won't suddenly make it £35m badly spent, spending the money already did that

Over the course of their whole careers:

Defore: 187 in 452 - goal every 2.41 games
Bent: 169 in 395 - goal ever 2.33 games
