Some attractive play so far, but as yet no end product.

No, quite different today. Usually make lots of chances but fail to finish them. Today their keeper hardly had a save to make. A few chances were fluffed, but today the biggest problem was actually getting into a goal-scoring opportunity. Loads of possession today, but very little in their area.

Sigh.

not loving todays lineup

in kenny we trust

Liverpool: Reina, Johnson, Coates, Carragher, Skrtel, Enrique, Adam, Henderson, Downing, Gerrard, Kuyt. Subs: Aurelio, Carroll, Doni, Shelvey, Kelly, Flanagan, Bellamy.

FML.

I looked at this game prematch for about 10 seconds, thought the price was right and moved on.

If I had known this was the lineup I would have layed the arse out of the scousers at less than 1.5.

Why did Dalglish even sign Bellamy? Every time I see him play for Liverpool he's the best player on the pitch, yet Dalglish obviously doesn't fancy him.

Nor did he fancy 3 points by the look of the 11 he started with today.

Was Dangerous Dirk played a lone striker?

He is even less likely to hit the net than Carroll!

If Gerrard didn't score, Lolerpool were never going to score today until Carroll and Bellamy came on.

I'm going to have bruises tomorrow where I kicked myself so hard just now.

Kenny should have used his brain and not started him vs Oldham and City then shouldn't he?

The leagues far more important. You carry on at this rate and it'll be another season without CL football.

I really don't understand Dalglish's handling of Carroll ? Is he really never going to give him a run of games in the team ? He says his confidence is fine but no way would he not be gutted at not starting today, what message does that send to him. Even Kin would admit Dirk the Destroyer isn't too handy in front of goal so why drop Carroll and play Kuyt as a lone striker ? I know Dalglish is a god to Liverpool fans but I'm pretty sure if any other manager was in charge you'd be steaming at the tactics so often this season.

I think we should have started with Kuyt and Carroll up front. Possession of the ball in midfield wasn't going to be the issue, it was having targets in the box to keep their defence occupied that was key, giving the likes of Gerrard, Downing and whoever more space just off their back four.

Still, much prefer the way we're playing under Dalgish than Hodgson. But it's still work in progress. He's only been in charge for 12 months.
