Not particulalrly a Dalglish fan, but he's better than Hodgson I suppose.
We are better than we were 12 months ago granted, but worse than 3 years ago.
Creativity or lack of, is borderline shocking.

Kenny resigned last time round when he realised he could not take the club further. I just wondered how long it was gonna be this time before he decided he was not good enough. Some of his team selections and tactics are at best questionable. What has he learned from past experience to believe he is capable of doing a better job and competing with the top teams

No - it was the stress undoubtedly exacerbated by the post-Hillsborough period.
Dalglish spoke: "This is the first time since I came to the club that I take the interest of Kenny Dalglish over Liverpool Football Club. This is not a sudden decision. The worst I could have done was not to decide. One could argue that this decision hadn’t come at a good time but there is no good time in cases like this. The main problem is the pressure I put on myself because of my strong desire to succeed. The stress that comes right before and after games has got the better of me. Some might have difficulty understanding my decision but this decision stands. I would be betraying everyone if I wouldn’t let them know there is something wrong. I have been involved with football since I was 17. Twenty years with the two most successful teams in Britain, Celtic and Liverpool. I’ve been at the front all these years and it time to end it." Dalglish stopped speaking.

Of course that was the reason he left previously. Quite understandable too.

Compare the number of points we had at Xmas/New Year compared to the previous year. This shows we're doing better (although there are new players in the squad, etc.) as well to be taken into account.
The biggest difference is in the style of play. We're playing decent footy most of the time, and that is a million miles away from the footy we were playing under Hodgson (the approach is totally different, including basic things such as Reina being told to kick long EVERY TIME by Hodgson, whereas Dalglish is promoting the pass-and-move football we're playing now).
Dalglish has made mistakes, and he'll continue to make them. But he's getting a lot of things right, and if we can sort out the problem of not scoring enough goals (which I know is a rather important element
) then we'll be back competing. It was never going to happen in 12 months and it's a bit early to determine if his 'second coming' is a success or not.
The interesting question (for me), is how would Rafa be getting on with the new owners in charge, rather than having to work under the the previous owners/jokers?

Now that would be interesting.
It seems that Kenny gets a lot more slack cut for him than Hodgson ever did, but his style wasn't to LFC fans liking and nor would it have been acceptable at OT obviously.
The question of a club's historic style is troublesome though. Would LFC fans have been happy with Hodgson if you'd been winning 1-0 every week playing long ball etc? Chelsea fans were overjoyed when they started to win semi-ugly; Newcastle fans loathed Fat Sam yet his record wasn't so bad was it?
I remember the years post-Busby and dread the years post-SAF as we look to find someone to fill his boots in the style to which we have been long-accustomed.

Obv the Hillsborough thing played heavily on him but by his own admission Kenny could not handle the pressure. He is not the same calibre as SAF or the special one and Liverpool need a manager at the helm that will put Liverpool back at the top. When you have a mediocre team you must have managers like O'Neil or Alladyce to get motivating them to perform better as a combined team and better than the individual ability would suggest. Alas I think in Rafa, one of these managers has slipped through your fingers.

You obviously know nothing about this subject. The pressure was nothing to do with managing the side in terms of football (note he subsequently went to manage at Blackburn - and think he coped OK with the pressure there), it was to do with Hillsborough and the aftermath of that. Do you know how many funerals he went to? How many meetings with the families of those who'd died?
The rest of your post is pure troll - so not even going to comment on it.

Hodgson deliberately asked the players not to play passing football. He wasn't solely responsible for the mire we were in last season that's for sure - but he wasn't helping. If Kenny had the team playing the same football as Hodgson did, then the 'slack' from the fans wouldn't be there. As it happens, we're playing far better football this season - just need some shooting practice! Compare our standing in the league this year to last, compare the points we've got, etc. Not only is it much better this season, but so is the play.

Kenny's been in charge for 12 months. We'll see how we're doing during his third full season.

Somehow I doubt he'll complete three full seasons unless your shooting improves dramatically and quickly. Not having a pop at Kenny, just feels unlikely.
Even beating United (Manchester United that is) in the 4th round and again at OT won't compensate for not qualifying for European football next year. OK, the fans would take it, but would he?
I like a lot about Kenny, he has mellowed in a lot of ways since his earlier spells in management, but he was an absolute legend as a striker and if he can't get them scoring who can?
Just a matter of time? Or something deeper in the set up?

This was his own statement in his own words. It states the main problem was the pressure from failing the club. He never mentioned or used Hillsborough as an excuse as he is a better man than that. He will always be a legend with the club and fans so is given a lot more slack. Unless he can find players with the same passion that he has for the club, then the team will always struggle. Rednapp is doing the sort of job at rotten ham that needs to be done at Liverpool. The also rans of the league are kidding themselves that they are getting better. The sad fact is that Chelsea and united have got worse but in my opinion the premiership is a better league for it.

At the time of his resignation, the club were three points ahead in the league and still in contention for the FA Cup.
Failure?
He didn't mention Hillsborough because as you said "he is a better man than that". No one would have criticised him if he had said that Hillsborough was the reason - he'd gone way beyond what was expected from him.

Lol at the pressure at Blackburn. Keep them in the league and decent cup runs then you are doing the job. Jack walker set out to fulfill his life long ambition and achieved this and won't chuck the money in himself to repeat. Liverpool are still one of the top 5 clubs worldwide and with their fan base should be able to make a realistic challenge on our domestic title.
I did not realise they were winning the league at the time of his resignation tbh. I seemed to recall it came after a 4-4 draw but I may have been wrong.
