It seems to me to be quite peculiar to Liverpool fans to be massively analytical, always picking the team and then looking for ways to explain performances etc.

There was a great section in the Tomkins piece that Baron linked to the other day.

Something along the lines that if Liverpools results in cups had been replicated in their league performances against the same sides then they'd be much further up the league.

Just about the most meaningless thing I've ever seen written about a team's plight/league position.

Anyway, they could make pretty quick improvements if they asked nicely for Rafa to come back and gave him the support they are giving the King.

Don't think they would need to ask nicely. He hangs around the gates most days looking forlorn so they just need to open a window and shout down.

Huh?  They were on a downward spiral when he left.  Either that, or my lay of them to finish in the top 4 was just a piece of lucky coin flipping  (aftertiming obv).  Surely much of this can be traced back to him.  Bring back Woy, and give him the time Kenny has got.

lol, be good though if they put an arm round him and brought him home. I can still remember him giving Fergie a few home truths - what a guy.

Legend.  Love Sami and think we let him go a season too early.  Would love to see him back at Liverpool one day in some capacity.

Newcastle v Liverpool

Newcastle:
Krul, Simpson, Williamson, Perch, Gutierrez, Guthrie, Tiote, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Cisse, Demba Ba.

Liverpool
Reina, Flanagan, Carragher, Skrtel, Enrique, Gerrard, Spearing, Shelvey, Bellamy, Carroll, Suarez
Subs: Doni, Aurelio, Maxi, Henderson, Coates, Kuyt, Downing.

Interesting line-up for Liverpool, and if some of the players can't get up for this game, then they don't deserve to be playing.  Difficult to predict what sort of Liverpool side/performance we'll see, but for some strange reason I'm quietly optimistic (glass is always half-full, sometimes not quite sure what's in it though!).
