Clause in Kuyt's contract meant we weren't ever going to get a lot for him. Hope he's got himself a nice pay day - he's worked hard for it.

I'm a funny way I think most of our players should be depreciating asset, it would mean we've had them for the majority of the peak performance years. Any player(excluding maybe youth ones) sold at a profit MAYBE could be looked at as a lost opportunity? |

The weird thing is Rafa had a youth system churning a decent profit year on year without losing any "gems" and he got hammered for it. "bought 88 players at £200m - no idea what's he's doing" etc etc |
