It's not like it's the only thing he's ever done. Countless cases against him

I agree. This was my point, considering how many times he done something legitimately bad, and then how unintentional the Mansfield goal was and how obvious it was that he thought it was going to be disallowed, it's not exactly a huge crime worth talking about but I guess some people just want to try to bring up something innocuous... now why would that be I wonder! Yawn.

Not needed! I'm in fear of the result. We don't do 4 games in a row without defeat. The plan is to be so hungover I can't feel any worse. Good plan IMO.

You'd think it was as bad as Thierry Henry: NBA superstar, or Maradonna.

It was accidental, or so it seems to me. I don't think he intentionally handled it.

Probably the dumbest thing I've seen regarding the handball is the bs story that Suarez kissed his hand to mock the poor Mansfield fans, not like he does it after every goal or anything!

It was all about as shocking as two poker players getting all in pre with AA v AA and one of them losing...

Save the full Manchester Liverpool debate for Sunday afternoon eh?

Like mass hysteria gone crazy on crack, the UK has gone on all out attack
Run slow motion and find intent, lets fuel tribalism with what heaven sent
Heaven for the FA and the media too, heaven for the hypocrisy towards little Lu

He has history they all cry with glee, as they lay in wait in front of their TV
Heaven came to the pundits too, as they gave a judgment, as if they knew
They all screamed cheat to fuel the hate, I guess like fans, the pundits wait

No thought or logic did they apply, to the bouncing ball or to the question why
Why should they when their job is clear, why should they when they could smear
The world is now safe from the Mayan, but not just yet from the little Uruguayan

Why are you so special my Liverpool Lu, I’ve seen worse and more often too
What is this power that you possess, that can unite a whole Nation to obsess
You must be the devil in a red disguise, or it’s simply down to hate-filled eyes

Whatever the reason, just ignore, get out on the pitch and score some more
Enjoy your journey, enjoy the ride, don’t bow your head, and do not hide
Keep standing tall, let others dive and fall, because it's you they fear with a ball

They dread you twists and fear your turns, but do your thing while their hearts burn
One day they will come to understand, that it was just a simple ball to hand
You didn’t kill, you didn’t maim, it’s simply the selling power of your name

They rely on you to feed their need, you must be special, one of a breed
Smile at the hate and the ignorance too, just carry on and do as you do
When you leave for pastures new, use the middle finger, like they do to you

Sorry, but could not resist what is obviously a set of circumstances and the kind of reactions that we will never see again in football.  If we do, I certainly hope the next antichrist to be elected by media has as much character as this little man - he will need it, sadly!.

Very well written poem, Peter, but I have a hard time accepting that he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Some of the most memorable acts of sportsmanship have come from those who we normally associate with the exact opposite. Paulo Di Canio pushed over a ref and also famously did a Nazi salute but he still catches a cross when he believes there's an injury.

Robbie Fowler (and watch how I'm not actually anti-liverpool here) enjoyed a playboy lifestyle but appealed to the ref against Arsenal to ensure Seaman wasn't sent off.

Suarez - like Balotelli - has the unfortunate habit of being the one that these incidents happen to. He had an opportunity to change opinion.

If a serial thief gets pulled over by the police investigating a burglary nearby, he can say "well you're just watching me all the time so how is this fair?!", but if he keeps nicking stuff, you can't blame the police.

Let me be fair. He's not the only one who would handle the ball and claim a goal of course, but he keeps getting caught doing the wrong thing. The only person who can change that is Luis Suarez.

He's carried the team so far this season and some of his goals have been spellbinding. But it's the baggage I don't like.

I'm coming across like a right grumpy sausage. Sorry about that. Not my intention.

He's just one of those players that draws the worst out in me (Suarez, not Peter Costa!).

I'll leave you all alone now Smiley

Poem is excellent, and Suarez has been wrongly castigated for doing what every footballer would do, but "the kind of reactions we will never see again in football"Huh?

leave it out!

Wait till Sunday afternoon and the reaction to some half-controversial decision from Howard Webb.
