Mistake by Carragher, and the tie looks done and dusted. But two goals before half-time and there's a glimmer of hope. I'm confident that Liverpool can score two goals, but not so confident that they can stop Zenit from scoring again.
Certainly not boring though!

Great effort. Lost the tie at their place really, and left themselves too big a task to do tonight.
Played well tonight from front to back. Jose Enrique and Suarez were outstanding.

Enjoyable game last night, if not fruitless in the end.
This free-kick was a bit special, although not sure where the goalie is positioning himself:

Someone on a Liverpool forum I'm on put it better than I could:
"I don't think the substitutions lost us that game. Given the chance Shelvey had and a couple of runs/crosses that Assaidi put in, I don't think it's
anywhere near the negative impact people some are pointing at. Especially without considering the impact fatigue had on Suarez, Gerrard and Johnson in those closing stages - the players who'd really driven us forward all game.
We lost that tie because of defensive errors in both legs, a bit of naivety in the first and some absolutely shockingly poor finishing in the same game."

Sorry Dan, I disagree a bit. It's just a tiny bit of inexperience that someone like Rafa would not have made. Anfield was doing it's job, he should have let it carry the players. Not having a moan, Rodgers will get there.
Sometimes the occasion > the tactics. Especially at Anfield.

the kop drew it in! lol.
Seriously, never understood why GKs position away from the wall in the opposite side of the goal where he knows the ball will be heading?!! Every (99%) of free kicks head either over the wall into the gap that it tries to protect or to the left/right of the wall - ......into the gap its trying to protect. Stand in the middle of the goal gives you the chance to react and dive either way, with the added protection of the wall.

Could argue that the wall should be to the left (his right) but then Gerrad would probably ping it round the ball with the outside of his boot.

I see Rafa is having a pop at the Chelsea owners, just like he had a pop at the Inter owners, just like he had a pop at the Liverpool owners, just like he had a pop at the Valencia owners.

and this shows a great character confident in his own ability!
Rather this than the Alan Pardews of this world! - Begging and grovelling to keep his job every transfer window by sliming up to the chairman he hates who has just destroyed his team, killing any ounce of self respect he might of had!

A good boss can take criticsm where its due, he would have his own strength of character to let you know what he thought - trust me Ive worked for enough weasels in my time! ("managers" and bosses)

He knows he's gone at the end of the seaosn, at best. He's preparing the ground for his next job
The world of football management doesn't really correspond with most workplaces!
Personally, I have some sympathy with him on this. Derided as soon as he went to Chelsea, huge player power in the dressing room, fans not prepared to accept him, an owner not prepared to pony up for his player in the best form, Lampard
Chelsea should go the whole hog, appoint Terry as player-manager and they can all luxuriate in their own insular chumminess while the rest of the football world looks on disliking them just that bit more
