Anyone see the pre match stuff interview with Liverpool fans outside the ground

Only one was scouse!

Your point being?

Looked pretty stupid interviewing the fans in liverpool and only 16% were actually from there.

Significant sample size?

Nope, who said it was? Would have thought sky would ask a few more locals that is all!

Were they asking them questions about living in Liverpool?

Nope, but should have given them directions to the tourist office  thumbs up

Still don't understand the point you were making, but never mind.

Call!

It's not a particularly interesting point though. Most sizable PL teams with history have a high degree of match day tourists. Some not so big, and not PL teams too.  Had the misfortune to share a hotel in Leeds with a boat load of fans who'd come over from Ireland to support 'their' team.

Quote
Liverpool FC fans say next year's season ticket rises are an "insult" to loyal supporters, despite a freeze on ticket prices for the Kop.

The club announced a six-tier pricing system, which will see prices increase by up to 9% in some areas of Anfield.

Fans group Spirit of Shankly called the increases inflation busting.

Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre said the club gave "careful consideration" to ticket prices and pricing over the past two years.

The most expensive full adult ticket for the 2013-14 season will be £850 an increase of just over 5%. The cheapest season ticket sells at £710.

Liverpool FC said season tickets in the Kop will remain level or reduced. The cheapest season tickets at neighbours Everton will be £427 next season.

I read today Allen has been playing for months with a shoulder injury. This could explain a lot.

I thought he helped to change the game and redominate the midfield on Sunday.

Really don't understand how Lucas doesn't start.Would definately have made a difference in the first half.

Agree David, they announce a long standing injury for Allen last week, then starts over Lucas and has a shocker.

Didn't see the match, and from the sound of things I was fortunate.  My brother said he'd seen the worst 30 minutes of football we'd played this season, and that was at half-time. Don't think it got any better in the second half.

Symptomatic of the performances under Rodgers this season, and shows that there is a long way to go to produce consistent performances that are needed to be contenders for a top 4 spot.

Didn't see the match, and from the sound of things I was fortunate.

They were dire Dan. Passing and ball retention were woeful ,and the defence, well, whereas once it was the bedrock on which any success we had was built, now it just looks like four lads plucked from a sunday league side.
They have not been performing well for a long time and it is only the fact that we have been able to score more goals lately that has ,to a degree, covered up their ineptitude.

A serious re-evaluation and major overhaul looks desperately in need.

Yeah, that echoes what my brother said.

Not a great weekend for us sporting wise, with Wigan losing on Friday as well Sad

With Carragher retiring, Coates and Wilson seemlingly not going to make it and Skrtel simply not good enough we need about eighty eight centre halves. The last truly great centre half we brought was Hyypia and he was bought as a reserve for Henchoz and Babbel, ie we got lucky!

What's the story with Wilson Aaron?

Was earmarked as having very good potential and was reportedly admired by several clubs.

Has he not progressed , has being farmed out on loan stifled his development somewhat , or do the hierarchy still think he could prove to be an asset if given a prolonged run in the side and a few words of encouragement?

Re Skrtel...

Last season (and the start of this one) he looked for all the world like Carra's long term replacement.Somehow it all seems to be going wrong for him.How much of this is down to the new demands made of him by Rodgers.  ie  we often see him chasing and closing opposition strikers down near the half way line ,more or less a man marking job especially against the top five teams ala his (excellent ,it must be said) job on Aguero early in the season.

Agger...

Mostly reliable but prone to "going missing" for periods every match.I guess concentration is not his strong point.

Coates...

Really still undecided tbh. Not  sure he should be written off yet.Probably gonna be a decent backup to have.

Kelly..

Has all the attributes but it is a hell of a jump from reserve team centre back to premiership.A lot of positions you can flit in and out of the match without having a detrimental effect on the team  ala  Sterling. At centre back there is nowhere to hide.

No idea on Wilson tbh, no seen him play much and never heard the powers that be talk about him either. Him, Coates, Kelly, Wisdom etc I'm not worried about. You don't get world beating CBs at 22 very often.

It's the trinity of Agger, Skrtel and Carragher. There's not a great defender among them in current form/age unfortunately.

Eventually I'm sure we'll have Wisdom and Kelly as two fine centre backs.  But far too early to start relying on them any time soon, unless one of them plays alongside a Hyypia-like figure.
