http://www.givemesport.com/471901-adam-lallana-move-to-liverpool-blocked-by-saints-chief
So no additional 'news' there then? If Lallana wants the move, he can put in a transfer request. If not, it looks like he'll be staying put.
Lallana wants the move. He has made that clear to the board. He is reluctant to put in a transfer request due to the message it sends out to the fans and, more importantly, the financial implications it has on what Southampton have to pay him when the transfer completes.
The £25 million bid that Liverpool tabled is actually far from that. Nearly 50% of that is related to performance related pay and 25% of any upfront fee has to go to Bournemouth so at the current deal - it sees Saints left with less than £10 million and not able to strengthen. They want the deal restructured to properly reflect the value of the player.
Couple that with the fact the board promised not to sell any players without a new manager being in charge. Hand was forced with Lambert but Shaw/Lallana are going to be forced to wait.
The only reason he won't join Liverpool is if Liverpool turn attentions elsewhere and sign someone before the world cup ends. Expect it all to be completed after the world cup now.
If Lallana WANTS the move, he'll hand in a transfer request. Otherwise, I can see the deal not happening at all.
he wants the move but if he hands in a request he misses out on a large reward if he hands in a request

Liverpool linked with Bolasie.
Palace need to get him on a new contract sharpish with only one year left on it. Only have him on around £3k a week atm too apparently.
You guys probably remember what he did to Glen Johnson recently, he has been doing that all season under Pulis. He also embarrassed Baines recently too which was a joy to watch. An out and out winger, able to create something out of nothing, just do not expect him to score, he loves a shot though, i think around 50 without a goal, i mean wtf is that lol.
In my biased opinion he is a £8m rated player but under the circumstances, if we can't get him on a longer deal and he wants out, £2m should be expected. Would be an exceptional sub to bring on with 30 mins to go if you are up against a defence that is sitting back.
His assists were 4 all season, but there were 2 that had deflections involved that was all his own work before it got to the scorer, so it is sort of a misplaced 6 assists in my eyes, which would be the same as Lallana. Would be a coy buy for the reds. He is my favourite player and i am not saying this lightly at all, but in my 10 years of supporting Palace, his departure, especially for a low fee, would be the worst thing i would have experienced as a fan. He is just so exciting, and it would devastate me to see someone as unique (awkward flair) as him go.
He also does some freestyle if that floats your boat.

Can deal looks like it's been done. Not seen enough of him to be able to make a proper judgement. Seems pretty pricey though. Fingers crossed.
£10m for a 20-year old German U 21 midfielder who can play pretty much anywhere in the midfield or defence? If he was English, he'd be priced at a lot more than that I'd imagine.
Sounds like a bargain. Hope he's as average as Henderson.
Possibly will turn out like him
Difference being can you afford a player to perform poorly for a season or two now you are aiming for at least top 4 and europe?
Rummenigge on Can on his move from Bayern to Bayer:
"Emre Can is one of the biggest talents in German football," said Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge at the time. "With this step, we want to make sure he gets enough playing practice, for example like Toni Kroos had at Leverkusen, Philipp Lahm at Stuttgart or David Alaba at Hoffenheim."
It certainly sounds like Bayern fully expected him to return after his stint at Bayer. The more I think about this, the bigger a coup it appears to be. The risk? Dare I say that £10m isn't much of a risk for a 20 year old of his standing?

There is no doubt he is a promising young player
But KHR like nearly every person associated with a club who loans out young talent has said that about every player Bayern have loaned out the last few years.

Who as a DM at 20 is anything but promising? Frank Rijkaard wasn't anything more than promising at 20 in that position. I guess we should expect a scout in everyone these days.
I'm perfectly happy with the signing. Much less risky than some of Brenda's others. Shrewd once again.

Rijkaard yikes! Nothing like putting pressure on someone
I have watched Can in eight or nine full games that for me is long enough to offer an opinion he looked ok/quite good but didnt grab me.
Just an opinion

You could also argue that he's "purpose built" for the PL as well. Tall, fast, physical, not afraid of getting stuck in, direct at times, good in the air. Ticks a lot of boxes and fills a lot of gaps we have.
Then there's the obligatory YouTube clips video...

Fair one. Just saying in the vast majority of DMs you can't tell at that age. Even the great ones.
