My point that you are missing if the first instance was deemed so bad it was given a 10 game ban (10 game bans for a first offence are pretty rare in football as far as i am aware).  Then by the time the 3rd identical offence has been committed the punishment, if it was deemed so severe to suffer a 10 game ban to start with, should be dramatically higher than this ban which like you say is a maximum of 21 games (although the 9 international games are highly unlikely to be anything other than friendlies as WC qualification won't be affected).   What is the ban for a 4th offence? 5th offence?

Surly Liverpool tell him to fuck off and sing for his wages.  There is no way I'd be paying his wage if I employed him.   If he can't play he can't work imo.

Fifa have officially banned him for 4 months from all football activity.

The 9 game ban is from 9 Uruguay games.

Surprised, but pleased, to see FIFA had the balls to ban him from all football.

Liverpool either now commit to getting him serious professional help or sack him. Position is otherwise untenable IMO.

likely to fine him for bringing the club into distripute.

Won't sack a valuable asset, however morally wrong that it, business is business. Probably cost us if we do sell 5/10% of his value.

He has a bug about english media so i cant see him wanting to stay here anyway.  From a positive point of view from his view, he now has 4 months to find a nice place in Spain, school for his kids etc without stressing about it!

Rules change when you are worth £80m.  Sad fact of life.  He never gets sacked.

Sheff United have resigned a convicted rapist who was on their books because he is a good striker for the level they are it (as it happens having done a fair bit of reading on the case i am far from convinced he should be but he is)

No morals in football there havent been for years not a new thing

I'm not sure his value will be damanged greatly by all this fuss. I mean Suarez must be attracting a gazillion hits on google right now.

Football is about entertainment & winning things and to that end I think Suarez has been dynamite in this world cup. Have you not been entertained? So would like to think Liverpool hold steady and get close to market value.

Your record in recent transfers has been pretty tez and we don't want some slick-haired barca shrewdie bending you over for £40m do we? I mean it's all fresh right now...everybody's all "that's shocking matron"...but in 6 months time when Suarez is banging them in at the Nou Camp nobody will give a shit.

people forget rio was given a 9 month ban from all football 10 years ago not for failing a drugs test but not turning up for the test (some will argue its the same thing).  It was his first offence.  That penalty looking back looks incredibly harsh given the lack of positive tests in football in england at the top level in general.

You could argue that things like this contributed to the relatively low number of drugs though. Getting banned for missing the test means you can't hide.
