If anyone from Glasgow fancies arranging the training. I'm up for it. Ive done a half marathon and loads of 10ks before and the feeling when you cross the wire is like no other. After the run, it only takes one drink to get intoxicated so we could all have a cheap night out after it:)

nothing like the promise of a bevvie to get a Weegie Lass running, eh? Smiley

So are you going to 'manage' the Scottish squad? A dutchman in Glasgow managing a team? I seem to remeber that being a winning combination in about 1997 in Glasgow. Im willing to put my faith in you Boldie. You up for it?

Unless Dale wants to race, he can f**k right off, probably turning up on the day and kicking the Kenyan's ass if there's money on it.  Cheesy

Thinking along these lines, I have a 1/2 marathon I plan to enter in November. Will be more motivation to actually do some training if a blonde one is in the planning.
I also make the unfit & overweight section easily

Hi lads,

Count me in. The only worry is the injuries folk pick up when they have not run for years. The last time I tried this with a group we changed our mind after a month or so. Lots of stress injuries. We ended up doing the three peaks challenge. I have to say it was the best event I have ever done. It is a team walking event. You have to get very fit for endurance and it lasts 24 hours. You need teams of up to six walkers and two drivers per team. The challenge is to walk up Ben Nevis then drive down to Scarfell before finishing at the top of Snowdon.  The highest mountain in Scotland, England and Wales in 24 hours.  How about that for a challenge and I can get us some places.!!!

yeah..word of warning  to everyone starting this...Running can really damage your knees and ligaments if you aren't carefull. For God sake stretch first and also do a bit of swimming or something before you start this just to get the muscles used to some pressure being put on them (or in the case of some of you..A LOT of pressure Wink
It's very easy to pick up an injury while running.

9 months to get to the level where you can jog and walk 13 miles. Patrik Antonius works out for 3 hours a day apparently. It'll be good for your poker.

Count me in on the 3 peaks aswell if you have spaces- i do a lot of tabbing over the beacons following the routes that SAS do on selection up there, yet to do the full 20 hour tab yet though, save that for mid summer!!!
