Today, on the M1, I saw a 1950's version of this - the one I saw was a Triumph powered motorcycle-hearse.

Intrigued, I went google-imaging, & found the very same one - but the image would not copy.

But google-images have dozens of similar such things. Amazing!

TorbayFunerals.com were a help, as was "motrorcyclefunerals.com". What an amazing thing the Internet is, especially Mr google.

Just watch what you say about Orpey - she'll be "on thread" later this afternoon. She's currently at the Gym, to be followed by a visit to the Sauna. Best not to even think about it. She has her 36th birthday next week, by the way.

Meanwhile, my current Sky Poker wife, Rich Orford, (fml) is unwell, with tonsilitis, & yesterday had his first "sickie" day off work in 16 years. What a wimp.

How to make friends, tikay-style.

Now I know why I've been single for so long.

I've been far too subtle when speaking to women.

Is she really 36 next week? Can't believe that.

I'm gonna start with a very simple IM TWENTY NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE still in my 20's for another 2 months, to get to your age Tikay you have to use multiples of my age which are far too advanced for your simple poker mind.....

She does the "dumb blonde" bit well, but she's brighter than the average bear

Anyway, here's the link. Please support it.

Now if I knew what a gable-end was I'm sure I would be suitably offended, but as for bloody mersey tunnel.... again probably a fair enough description..dam it Smiley

Out of all of these delightful insults though I think I'm most worried about 'Slightly Furry to Touch' now any residue left on my ample butt from Tikays furry mitts is no fault of my own.

I have to say though, thanks so much for your comments, I climb a lot anyway, I've done Ben Nevis and Snowdon and I rock climb every week so Kilimanjaro should be no worries, although every report seems to read that it's the hardest most gruelling experiences you can go through and 1/3 don't make it unless they have a personal doctor up there giving jabs for Altitude sickness, so I'm trying not to underestimate it. Charity's for Malaria and the poverty in Africa is close to my heart and I'm trying to raise as much as possible so please please donate just £2 and it will make such a difference, £5 makes the difference to whether a child dies or not, think about that, we do all really have it so nicely here in England. Can't believe they won't let me take my nail file up the mountain though Smiley

Oh and Ample is the choice of word for Tikay because it has never been implied to him before

Good Luck with the climb Mich, ample arse and all, & I hope you raise the £1,000 target you have set. You gotta admit, this thread has raised some awareness of your cause. And ampleness.

Malaria & Cholera in Africa is just so dreadful. Well done you.

An aeroplane/airplane question:

I have been watching a lot of the program Aircraft Investigation on Sky recently and have noticed something the pilots always say in conversation with the tower.

When letting the tower know who they are the pilots describe themselves as  BA5048 heavy.

What does the heavy mean? I've never heard them say that they are light so wondered if it had any meaning?

As was already mentioned it is to allow ATC to space A/C for wake turbulence.

A fun story once when i was flying into an airfiled in Florida i was in a PA-28 or Cessna 150 anyway i was approaching runway 03, just before runway 03 is the start of runway 30 where there was a 737-400 in position ready for T/O i was on finals landing and the 737 was given his T/O clearance followed by "be advised Cessna HEAVY landing prior to your departure on runway 03"

I knew the guy in the tower and so knew he was just messing around but the 737 pilot got so confused on the radio (not least because runway 03 was only about 3k feet long!)

Can the tower guys get in to serious trouble for little jokes like that?

I would imagine the rules are very strict at the major airports but probably a bit more relaxed at less busy ones.
