As busy as can be, but Birthday Boy today, so I feel a summing up coming on, "how am I doing, health, wealth & breath-wise" all reflective like. Don't worry, I'll Post a "look away now" warning. It's be tomorrow now I guess, so much to do today, & BTS, everything's going off.
But for now, two 'photographs, both of which have been widely disseminated on Poker Forums, Blogs, Press Releases & e-Mail shots in the last few days.
One was taken on Friday, the other on Sunday.......
Not forgotten, I have to be in the right frame of mind to do it properly, though.
It's all written, pretty much, in my mind, just need an hour or two of peace & quiet.

After recording In-Poker at The Vic a few months back, I sat & played some Omaha with Jeff Kimber, Karl & a few others. Cleaned me out, they did. I felt I was a bit unlucky, but maybe they were just too good for me. Not a lot of good telling the Bank Manager I was unlucky, is it?
So I done about £1,200, & it tilted me to death. What IS the point of doing a days work, & then tossing away the money & plenty more besides - at the poker table?
So I've not played any poker whilst doing In-Poker location work since, as it's hard to focus properly on both.
But last week, at Cardiff, after Karl's magnificent win, (that was quality grinding) there were so many friends down there I'd not seen for ages - I used to go down there every month for their £250 jobbie - that I ended up playing 6 card Omaha, & netted £1,200, lovely.
Then, in the week, a recent Online downswing was abruptly reversed, when I cashed 5 times for just over £1,000 - not exactly Shrewdie-style cashes, but a grand is a grand, & it's real money to me, money I can fold up, & smell it, feel it in my back-pocket, & carry it around. I always "use" winnings for something if I can.
Then, on Sunday, pardon the mini-chirp, but I won the £200 Sidey at Southend, for a profit on the week just shy of £4,000, happy days.
The Southend win was pure skill, of course. I wrote a piece on it about the key hand elsewhere, thusly.....
I moved Table, & UTG Tight Guy made it 900 at 150-300. I'm playing about 15,000 now.
I have A-Q of Diamonds.
This is NOT a Call usually, but there was an odd dynamic to this Table - there was a serial squeezer at the other end, & I fancied he might get silly here, & try to move us both off our hands with an Over-Bet. If he did, the plan was to snap-Call him.
Wrong - he did not raise, but he did smooth call - so maybe he'll try to get busy on any Flop. Which means I'll need to check any Flop, or Call if the original Raiser bet out, because I'm certain Loosey Goosey has his eye on nicking this.
The Flop came - remember, my hand was A-Q -...........
Q-Q-3.
So my A-Q was looking good. The Original Raiser had K-K, & Loosey Goosey had, unbelievably for me, Q-Ten.
I'll leave you to work out for yourself what happened next, but it was three minutes of Oscar-Award quality acting by both Loosey Goosey & me (K-K man just rolled his eyes & eventually let go after doing 12,000 chips in the coup), & a "most pleasing" moment.
And that's how to scoop a 42,000 chip pot. Go in behind, get lucky, & find a Loosey-Goosey who has position.
It's a game of skill, this poker. Oh, & luck. Great big dollops of it.

Delighted for Jim Moult, aka bookiebasher.
We've been mates for years, part of the original Nottingham crew, with Thewy, Belly, Karabiner, Chili, Pete & Kim Costa, & co. He joined blonde on 29th January, 2005 - one of the first Members. In fact, only Dave Colclough & Karabiner joined before him - he was a day-one sign-up, for a sort of impromptu Live Update I was doing from the Copenhagen EPT. In all that time, he reads the Forum almost daily, & always compliments me on his favourite threads, but has only made 142 Posts. Quality lurking, that. He's never exercised the Mods patience, either.
I rung him this morning to wish him well, & he rung me back minutes later, offering to wear a blonde badge at the Final, Televised Table, if Kev could sort him one. top bloke.
His plan was to wait until the 2 shorties perished, then re-assess. £73,000 was the net result, & I'm thrilled for him.
Nice one Jim.

Am up at the WSOP-E tomorrow afternoon, & daily for most of the nest 2 weeks, & In-Poker will be there each Sunday.
Then, at 5pm, a Pre-Record at Feltham, followed by the Live Show with Rich Orford in the evening.
I'll take the camera up to Leicester Square, so expect a few pics. Oh, & I'll be using the Heathrow Express. So lots of pics of that.....
I played £1 £2 Cash, on 2 Tables (2 Tables at once!, oooh), tonight, for SP, & I really don't know how the boys do this multi-tabling thing, I don't. Turned a grand into, err, £1,060, too, in less than 3 hours.....
Watch out Andrew Feldman, I'm on your case..

I know what you mean Tony, 2xtabling is my absolute limit and wears me out after a couple of hours

Have you ever tried multitabling before though? When I first started it did my nut in and I kept timing out etc, now I can play 6 tables of 6-max plo quite comfortably, probably more if I had a bigger screen.

As back-handed insults go, that gets 9 out of 10.
So can we consider that Vic Cash Session as something we can now put to bed? Every time you mention it, I inwardly wince.....I am inclined to think I got well & truly schooled. Sigh.
See you later today Big Man. That's "Big" as in top bloke, but not necessarily plump.

Actually, except on odd occasions, no.
When I have done it, I don't actually find it in the least bit enjoyable, or satisfying. Leaving the "stress" asise - it does get me a bit giddy, when the Tables are popping up everywhere - it misses the whole point of why I play poker - which is to enjoy it.
It seems to me that some things in life are better enjoyed if done slowly. Admiring the countryside, supping red wine (hypothetically), a fine meal, sex, & poker, all, to my mind, can be enjoyed more if done at a leisurely pace. Rushing any of them detracts from their pleasure. I never get this "hurry up, hurry up, zzzzz type comments in Online Chatboxes - what's with all the rushing, kidz?
It was a little different for me last night, or whenever I dio PTP or Take-on-Tikay. The whole purpose of those is to interact & chill with the Clients, playing a little poker as we go, so there's more time spent typing stuff in the Chat Box than pokering, to be honest.
Anyway, I quite enjoyed last night, after my initial nervousness of playing at £1-£2 (note £ not $), but I'd rather be playing with my own money, to be honest - the "guilt factor" at potentially losing someone else's money would do my head in, & it makes me play (even more) cautiously. Heaven only knows how it must feel tp bear the responsibility of playing with a Stakers money - I could not do it - ever ever ever.
I do not, & have not ever, played Hold 'Em Cash to be honest, it is not my thing at all. Omaha or DC cash, fine, but not Texas.
But as a job, as in PTP or T-o-T, the satisfaction is in doing a good job in interacting with the Clients, & driving traffic up - & it's been wholly successful in that, remarkable as it may seem. The Big Suits wrote to me overnight, "more please, Tuesday & Thursday next week", so that's a job well done, & actually, I'm very pleased with myself, because last night was a big ask for me.

Last night was my 4th T-o-T, & with multi-Tabling - well, 2-Tabling is not exactly multi I suppose - it is a lot more stressful than PTP, which mixes Cash with Tourneys.
T-o-T is pure cash, & I had to say to SP that I needed to take a 5 minute break every hour. (The T-o-T session is 3 hours, whereas a PTP is 5 hours, but totally relaxing, as it's mostly Tourneys). As you know, I'm a workhorse, a donkey (in more ways than one...), & I can work for days on end non-stop, the more the better, but 2-Tabling £1 £2 Cash - no way - I HAD to take hourly breaks, & I was absolutely wrecked adfterwards, even had an early night!
To be fair, Ralph, you are a lot older, so it's understandable in your case.
