It seems that Tiger Woods is getting treatment for sex addiction.

Tony,

It seems that Tiger Woods is getting treatment for sex addiction.

Good grief. What they gonna do, chop his todger off? I do so want to see him back on the Golf Course, players of that ilk only come once in a lifetime.(Or even twice a night). Do you still do the golf market for those people?

I must send you a PM too, about that "other" thing. I'm sorry, I'm just totally under the cosh right now what with this & that. I'd not forgotten. Just, you know, slipped my mind.

Is your next special delivery coming along nicely?

Barry Hearn = Legend.

Some months back, I had the good fortune & luck to spend the whole day with him, in a 3 handed business meeting, with a 2 hour break for Lunch while he had us in stitches with "under the radar" stories about this & that. Boxing tales, Steve Davis tales (one was a corker), how/why he came to be involved in Leyton Orient FC, etc.

Above all, I was gobsmacked at his grasp of detail in his business empire. At the time - September/October, he had just started selling tickets for some Darts Tour - Premier League maybe? - I can't exactly recall what it was.

Anyway, da de da de da, he said that "up until the day before yesterday, we were 29.93% (or whatever) up on the same stage last year". And then he suddenly said, "wait, I've got yesterdays figures here somewhere", & he rifled around in his briefcase, & pulled out a thick sheaf of printouts. After some perusing, he jumped up - literally, stood up in the middle of the meeting - & said "yes, 31.04% up as of now, yesssss".

I mean, the man is well into his 60's (but looks far younger), & here was this guy so enthusiastic. You can go a long way in life with detail & enthusiasm.

I adored him, & I've become a big Barry Hearn fan. Son Eddie, who I also like very much, & who shares the same traits as Dad - including hard work -  is pretty cute, too, but don't be giving up on Dad yet, there's plenty of miles left in his tank.

Which brings me neatly to......

So, Barry takes the helm at the near-moribund & wholly inept WPSA. What a masterstroke, he could not possibly fail!

He had told me, he would take on board advice & comment from everyone involved in snooker. And then do it his way.......

Well, next thing PokerStars are sponsors of The Masters - what a coup! - and that's a groundbreaking coup, unbelievably good for snooker. And doubtless, Barry. (Never do business with him, by the wy - he's so damn good you will always be the wrong side of the deal). So, snooker gets a shot in the arm, & Barry earns a good few bob I expect. (Those with memories long enough will recall Barry singing on the Chas & Dave "snooker loopy" thing).

So, I watched a god bit of The Masters. With typical Hearn luck & timing (funny how hard work brings so much luck) he got himself a corking Final, too. I fancy O'Sullivan would have been, marginally, a "better" winner for him, but the lad was a good winner, too. What a climax it was, too - though I felt a bit for John Parrott in that "awkward" & mostly monosyballic interview with Ronnie.

Bazza does detail, so the TV coverage had been tweaked. Plenty of audience shots of the specially invited (no doubt at Barry's request) celebs & faces, including Ronnie Wood. (See what I did there?). And the celebs had earpieces linked to the gallery, so they could smile & nod to camera "on cue". Not my cup of tea at all, but the snooker viewers are wrinklies to a large degree, & it would be right up their street.

And THEN the presentations & speeches, which, for a change, were slightly interersting. He wheeled in Jimmy, Steve, John Parrott, etc. Steve was in a dreadful suit, but had had his hair cut special for the TV cameras, & despite the suit, looked just terrific I thought.

The 'Stars logos were all beautifully placed, too, "just so" for the cameras.

He got it spot-on, absolutely perfect. I wish him nothing but continued success, he does it the old-fashioned way - by working hard, paying attention to detail, being enthusiastic, & most of all, he schmoozes for England.

PS - I've never applied or asked for any job in my life, but I did hint to Eddie a few times a few years ago that if they were desperate - really desperate - for a one-off commentator on some gig, to bear me in mind. He looked at me, laughed, & said "work for us?, you'll be all right". Meaning, of course, exactly the opposite. You know exactly where you stand with the Hearns I fancy. Some chancers tried to get into some of his TV Poker Tourneys "on the knock", & Eddie soon susses & sorts them. And you don't wanna be sorted by Eddie.

Which brings me on to.....

PokerStars.

They have a problem, a BIG problem.

Not the Site - oh no, that's the absolute bizz.

The money. What do they do with it all? The Monday morning meetings must be a right nightmare. "How much we made this week?". "Oh, another 17 zillion". "Shit, what we gonna do with it all, where can we keep it?". I'm not suggesting for a moment that Barry "spotted" that problem, & offered to "help". But let's assume he did.

They have Tours on every Continent now, & are running out of Continents. Where else can they run Tours?

How many Pros are on their books? !00? 200?

The celebs are being signed up now, too, Boris & Co.

But they just can't spend all that money. What a problem! Anyone know how much they have "at bank"? And do they put it on Deposit, or invest in Securities? That's just THEIR money - forgetting how much Players money they have on Deposit, which must exceed the GDP of Africa I would think. And unlike I-poker, I don't see them ever messing with ring-fenced Players money, either.

And they deserve it too. Once again, hard work, attention to detail, listening to their "market", it's basic stuff, but when it's done that well, you gotta admire it.

Any "supplier"v that dominant would of course usually be nabbed by the Regulators or the Competition Commission. Sorry, we are based offshore, go away.

They are just so damn good.

Little wonder that Mr Hearn "chanced" upon them. That marriage has a long way to go yet.

So Kraft are now the big cheese at Cadburys. Inevitable from he day the bid was made. I think Carburys did well to get the price they did, & that Kraft will struggle to justify it in the medium term. EPS at Kraft must be set for a huge tumble.

The diehard whinge-buckets (I learned that expression today) will have a chunter, but it's business, & you cant stop it. And it's a great sign for the world economy, when the Corporate Majors start spraying cash around.

All round, all good.

Whilst on BIG money stuff, tonight I finished 2nd in a 1,405 runner Tourney. And got £50 for it. Actually, that's wrong, I was on the Company account, & so I got zilch.

But what fun, to luckbox through a 1,400+ field!

Some said "hero", the wiser ones said "luckbox schmuckbox". Not wrong.

My car goes in for Service tomorrow, too, prior to it's final departure. The geezer at Heathrow BMW said "we'll collect it from your office at 0930, & bring it back at Noon".  He wishes.

I'm ashamed of the mess it's in, I really am. Cars are just tools to me, tools to do a job, but even so, it's a disgrace. When I play at DTD I hide it across at the Cinema, in case Regards spots it & gets on my case. He's a great lad, but if he sees the car in that mess....

How much you reckon this Service will cost (it's 11,000 miles "over" the Service Mileage) including tyres & brake linings & bits? I think I'd settle for a grand here & now, ffs.

It's done, 137,000 miles, & never ONCE failed me. I don't even know how to open the bonnet.

Up the Germans.

You should see the foot well on the passenger side on my car at the end of the week. Basically full of food wrappers, coke cans, coffee cups, crisp packets, its a disgrace. Going to Norwich tomorrow, will probably fill it up in one day on that journey, no wonder I'm so slim.............

Car servicing is the biggest rip off since snake oil.

Bung me a monkey and I'll have a look at it for you.

I can usually fill a wheely-bin with the crisp packets, sandwich cartons, & coffee cups from behind the front seats. It's Maria's job to sort these things, but she's so disorganized.

And there's a complete wardrobe in the car, too. Clothes, I mean, not a wooden one.
