So, I'll go over there in a bit. When I get back, I have to do some gardening, with my bare hands. Not looking forward to that, it's mostly nettles.

If you softly touch a nettle
it will sting you for your pains.
Grasp it like a man of metal
and it soft as silk remains.

It's also good for arthritis.

Good stuff. I'll deffo be grasping it manfully. It's a strange sort of nettle, too. Not green, more blonde.

Arthritis? The knee has definitely gone, & I guess I just add that to the routine niggles & aches & pains that accumulate with age, as the moving parts wear out. It's bearable pain though, somewhere between man 'flu & childbirth.

Went to do the gardening & the nettles had disappeared. I bet they'll soon be back though.

I blame Tighty.

Please God no. I love you dearly Rich, but every time you ring me, or e-Mail me, I cringe, & feel tempted to bounce it. You have the ability to both grow & eradicate nettles, too.

Fact. I've had 29 e-mails today. Only 8 were from Tighty. Maybe he gets paid by the word........

give this a try

"Arthritic joints were sometimes treated by whipping the joint with a branch of stinging nettles. The theory was that it stimulated the adrenals and thus reduced swelling and pain in the joint."

Thank you, but I'll swerve that if I may. I spend half my life kneeling in fields of nettles already.

The Windscreen Wipers, Episode 38.

I went & collected the Loan Car. Went by Taxi, a most friendly driver, & we chatted amiably. It's just over 7 miles, & he assured me that £34 was the "special rate".

My "Service Manager" was not there when I arrived, probably sitting his GCSE's or something, but he eventually strolled in, hands in pockets, wearing a portable electrical device, either an i-Pod or a vibrator I'd imagine.

I signed some forms - just 13 of them - & he gave me the keys to my Loan Car. It's a "Mini One", a sort of shooting brake/Estate Car variation on the Mini theme. The first time I've driven a Mini since the late 60's. The ride quality has not improved.

I can't believe BMW have ever made such a shoddy product. It rattles like a dustbin, & handles like a rubbish skip. It has nearly 2,000 miles on the clock, so that may account for wear & tear.

I'm pretty sure the designer has a pony-tail, wears a daft hat, & was working his notice when he designed the Rear-End & Interior. It's staggeringly bad, quite beyond belief.

The speedo/clock is the size of a dinner-plate. A novelty I suppose, for the first hour or so. I mean, what WAS he thinking?

Ron "Chopper" Harris. He said I should wear less make-up.

Great to chat & meet him again. As a player, he was very much a man's man.

I asked him the best & worst of current Football.

Best - that many old-timers like him are found jobs in Football, most big clubs look after their ex-Legends quite well. He earns more now at Chelsea as  "Host" than he ever did at Chelsea as a player.

Worst - the covert & underhand cheating, & the practice of feigning injury, & deliberately tryng to get players red-carded. I said he'd "crocked" many a player, he said "yes, those were my instructions, & I never made a secret of it, I just gave them a good clatter early doors so we all understood the score. They rarely came back for seconds".

He also makes a nice little living on the After-Dinner Speaking Circuit. He's not really telly-genic, but he's very honest, & has the t-shirt, no doubt about that.

With apologies for the blurry photo, does anyone (Tighty is not allowed to answer) know who this chancer is? The big one, I mean.

He never scared me, anyway.

He's had a spot on a particular TV Show for over 20 years apparently.

Apparently, nettles are a great addition to a compost heap.
