A dinner party. How fantastic. I'm pretty sure you'll be enjoying yourself by the end of the night when you're swirling brandy glasses and puffing Cuban cigars with a few of the boys. The dress code is one of the best things with all the guys looking dapper and the girls looking slinky and polished. Yeah man. I would recommend a white bow tie for any black tie event as it offers an interesting essence of rebellion and individuality without compromising smartness. However, with your "blonde" hair and mildy pasty complexion I would probably stick with black.

I so nearly went for a white dickie, then a maroon one, but I bottled it, & opted for safety, & got a black one.
The shopping was a nightmare. A
nightmare
.
Jeeves said I could get the lot at M & S opposite the Hotel, top of Edgware Road, or I think he did, but they only sell casual stuff.
"Where's the nearest that does" I asked, hopefully.
"Marble Arch, 10 minutes walk" says she.
10 minutes, my arse, it was like 9 miles & change.
I saw a shop whilst only halfway there, it sold clothes, so I went in & asked, but the said they only sell women's clothes, pfft. It was called
La Femme Elegance
I think, NEVER go there if you want a mans suit.
Still, eventually, I found the Marble Arch M & S, & managed to buy everything I needed. Well, except one item. Pah, foiled at the last, but hey-ho, they'll never look at my shoes.
To be honest, I'm all of a tither now, & just want it to be tomorrow, so this evening is all in the past.

So, the day is half done, the £220 Sky Sports DS TV Tourney is next, & it looks like a tidy field.
One interesting runner is young Boba-Fett, who cashed in the Glasgow SPT iirc. We kick off at 8pm, & I'm never nervous before Tourneys. Today, I'm nervous, for some odd reason. Nowt to do with money, I just feel unsettled in my mind. I've won 2 little Online Tourneys this week, & used up about 8 years of binkage in so doing. The flip side of variance is at the door, I sense.

Have you had any televised cash games on Sky recently?
Yup, we do one every Saturday night, at 8pm. Buy-Ins vary from £300 to £1,000.
Sim got called down by some guy with 66 and the pot was never shown! The guy who won the hand was pretty disappointed.
Incorrect. It was shown.
The Hand was shown in last Saturday's "Top of the Pots", upon which I had the Analyst role, & Rich Orford the Presenter, & it featured in our 5-4-3-2-1 TOTP Countdown. It's been repeated several times since, too, I would imagine.
Sigh I was told on the night it wouldn't be shown! When is it next on I wanna watch that!?
What number was it?
I'm not aware of what you were told, or by whom, but presumably, they said it would not be shown "on the night", & they cannot predict what will make a subsequent TOTP 5-4-3-2-1.
I seem to recall you were OOP to Simmy, & check-called all the way with 6-6 on a Q high board, may have even been A high board, I don't recall exactly.
The TOTP segment is a technical oddity. It's part of 4 hour Live Show, but we treat it as a standalone segment, capable of being extracted from the 4 hour tape & shown as a 1 hour Show during the week.
Thus, we cannot back-ref (I ALWAYS forget), or continue with running jokes or suchlike, & we introduce the show at the very top with a "So, Good Evening, & welcome to TOTP, bla de bla" as if we have just begun the Show, when in reality, we are 3 hours in.
Which does very odd things to the mind, because there is a tendancy to rising excitement in a Show the longer it proceeds, but here we sort of have to tone it down at the start then rev it up again. Very challenging to do it well, actually, both in the Gallery, & Studio.
There is a TV Schedule somewhere on the site, & the TX dates of last week's TOTP will be on it somewhere.

A late interview today was Jason Senti (pronounced Scent-Eye), who is Billy Low Stack in the Nov Nine.
What a character!
Spent a while in England, Leicester of all place, at Uni a while back, & is in a rock band.
He seemed, to me, anyway, given his body language, tone, build, & vocal projection, to be the dead spit of that bloke in Tenacious-D - Jack Black, is it?

The chances of that are......?
A pretty safe bet to be available, I'd say!
It was just an unavoidable Diary clash.
It's started OK, am up to 5k from 4k, just nicking little soft pots really, not hit a flop yet. AndrewT is to my immediate left, & is having a nightmare against the table Lag.

The other comp is due to start at 10.30pm, but will prob start late is my guess. I need to get showered, iron the damn shirt, & get a cab as soon as I go busto. I'm not actually feeling too good at the mo, very unusually for me, it'd be a right bummer to be a no-show after all the trouble to ready for it.

Hope I have half your stamina when I'm 60+,actually I wish I had it now, hope you aren't feeling to unwell. As an aside,it may just be me being a bit slow but it's not to easy to find how to download the Sky Poker software online imo, just spent 5 minutes looking on the site and got nowhere with it,I seen you can play without a download but I take it there is one ?

Am OUTO, 24th I think, & in disgrace, too. Shame, I was going along nicely, too, but had a moment of madness with 8-2. I'm in the BB, & the SB, who's tricky, just made up, shoulda been a warning flag to me really.
It came K-Q-x, then I turned the 2 & he bet. I decided he did not have much, & I'd take him off it on the end without resistance, (hitting the 2 was irrelevant) as he's well laggy.
Then disaster struck, the 2 tripped on the river. He got strong, (A-K, obv) I got stronger, & he snapped with his House of Queens. Whoops. I coulda/shoulda just flatted on the end. Maybe.
Ah well, that's that. One more job now, & I'm done for the day.
Ironing board & Mayfair, (or wherever it is), here I come.
