I'm confused, your playing the Sky £220 comp and THEN are off to the dinner and have to play another comp ?? What happens if you go deep ?
The chances of that are......?
A pretty safe bet to be available, I'd say!
It was just an unavoidable Diary clash.
It's started OK, am up to 5k from 4k, just nicking little soft pots really, not hit a flop yet. AndrewT is to my immediate left, & is having a nightmare against the table Lag.
What time is the other comp starting ? Just being nosey but just seems strange,I know you said you had to go so is it fine if you turn up at 11 ? Have fun anyway and glglgl.
The other comp is due to start at 10.30pm, but will prob start late is my guess. I need to get showered, iron the damn shirt, & get a cab as soon as I go busto. I'm not actually feeling too good at the mo, very unusually for me, it'd be a right bummer to be a no-show after all the trouble to ready for it.
Hope I have half your stamina when I'm 60+,actually I wish I had it now, hope you aren't feeling to unwell. As an aside,it may just be me being a bit slow but it's not to easy to find how to download the Sky Poker software online imo, just spent 5 minutes looking on the site and got nowhere with it,I seen you can play without a download but I take it there is one ?
I'm not unwell as such, just feel very odd, & a bit shaky & cold. Prob just a bit too tired. I walked to Marble Arch & back tonight, that's the fat end of 10 miles I reckon, & had a couple of heavy days.
The Download is just about ready to be released, in fact. It got approval from AGCC (the Regulators) recently, & is on Beta-Test at the mo, in fact, I'm using it already. Live Release is scheduled in a week or two, I'd guess.
You should, of course, continue to support our sponsors if you are able, with next door as first reserve.
Sorry you had trouble registering tonight, I'll raise a query in the morning.

Am OUTO, 24th I think, & in disgrace, too. Shame, I was going along nicely, too, but had a moment of madness with 8-2. I'm in the BB, & the SB, who's tricky, just made up, shoulda been a warning flag to me really.
It came K-Q-x, then I turned the 2 & he bet. I decided he did not have much, & I'd take him off it on the end without resistance, (hitting the 2 was irrelevant) as he's well laggy.
Then disaster struck, the 2 tripped on the river. He got strong, (A-K, obv) I got stronger, & he snapped with his House of Queens. Whoops. I coulda/shoulda just flatted on the end. Maybe.
Ah well, that's that. One more job now, & I'm done for the day.
Ironing board & Mayfair, (or wherever it is), here I come.
I was watching when this hand happened, and pre-flop is def weird if you haven't already had him doing this bvb. With stacks and both of your assumed images I woulda flatted river IF I called turn. Don't think stacks are deep enough to take it away post against what is most likely a strong range. /sorry for strat!
Jason Senti seems an interesting dude, done some very good online strategy videos for BFP.

But not as crazy as the fact that I'm the "prize", or more correctly, an evening of my poker mentoring. And who gets me? The winner of the Poker Tourney.
I know, I know. Go figure, what a crazy world we live in.

Lol. You heard, then?
You could not make it up. What a day yesterday was.
I'm trying to write about it all, but I'm as flat as a pancake today, completely devoid of energy & zing. It's been a most peculiar week.
I'm supposed to be driving to Halifax now, for a Charity Event tomorrow that could not be more "chalk & cheese" compared to yesterday's one. I've booked a lovely Country House Hotel in Yorkshire for tonight & tomorrow night, 4 poster bed, the whole works, to have a bit of a break, spoil myself, re-charge the batteries, but I can't be arsed to leave the Office, I'm all out of fuel, so that's down the swanee now.

I get scores of so called e-mail "funnies", & bin most of them unread. Humour is so subjective, but even as a crusty & feisty quinquagenarian (just for Tighty & Vince, that), this one got 8/10 from me. Remarkably, it came from a Welsh friend. Who said the Welsh have no sense of humour?
DEVON & CORNWALL POLICE
This is a True email sent to the Devon & Cornwall Police Force from an angry member of the public. The complaint was Genuine and brilliantly written albeit lengthy
Dear Sir/madam/automated telephone answering service,
Having spent the past twenty minutes waiting for someone at Bodmin police station to pick up a telephone I have decided to abandon the idea and try e-mailing you instead. Perhaps you would be so kind as to pass this message on to your colleagues in Bodmin, by means of smoke signal, carrier pigeon or Ouija board.
As I'm writing this e-mail there are eleven failed medical experiments (I think you call them youths) in St Marys Crescent, which is just off St Marys Road in Bodmin, Six of them seem happy enough to play a game which involves kicking a football against an iron gate with the force of a meteorite. This causes an earth shattering CLANG! Which rings throughout the entire building? This game is now in its third week and as I am unsure how the scoring system works, I have no idea if it will end any time soon. The remaining five walking abortions are happily rummaging through several bags of rubbish and items of furniture that someone has so thoughtfully dumped beside the wheelie bins. One of them has found a saw and is setting about a discarded chair like a beaver on speed. I fear that it's only a matter of time before they turn their limited attention to the bottle of calor gas that is lying on its side between the two bins. If they could be relied on to only blow their own arms and legs off, then I would happily leave them to it, I would even go so far as to lend them the matches. Unfortunately they are far more likely to blow up half the street with them and I've just finished decorating the kitchen.
What I suggest is this - after replying to this e-mail with worthless assurances that the matter is being looked into and
will be dealt with, why not leave it until the one night of the year (probably bath night) when there are no mutants
around then drive up the street in a panda car before doing a three point turn and disappearing again. This will of
course serve no other purpose than to remind us what policemen actually look like. I trust that when I take a claw
hammer to the skull of one of these throwbacks you'll do me the same courtesy of giving me a four month head start
before coming to arrest me. i remain sir, your obedient servant
Dear Mr——-
I have read your e-mail and understand you frustration at the problems caused by youths playing in the area and the
problems you have encountered in trying to contact the police, As the Community Beat Officer for your street I would 1 like to extend an offer of discussing the matter fully with you, Should you wish to discuss the matter, please provide ? contact details (address / telephone number) and when may be suitable.
Regards
Police Constable (Community Beat Officer)
Dear Police Constable
First of all I would like to thank you for the speedy response to my original e-mail. 16 hours and 38 minutes must be a personal record for Bodmin Police station, and rest assured that I will forward these details to Norris McWhirter for inclusion in his next book. Secondly I was delighted to hear that our street has its own community beat officer. May I be the first to congratulate you on your covert skills? In the five or so years I have lived in St Marys Crescent, I have never seen you. Do you hide up a tree or have you gone deep undercover and infiltrated the gang itself? Are you the one with the acne and the moustache on his forehead or the one with a chin like a wash hand basin? It's surely only a matter of time before you are headhunted by MIS. Whilst I realise that there may be far more serious crimes taking place in Bodmin, such as smoking in a public place or being Muslim without due care and attention, is it too much to ask for a policeman to explain (using words of no more than two syllables at a time) to these twats that they might want to play their strange football game elsewhere. The pitch on Fairpark Road or the one at Priory Park are both within spitting distance as is the bottom of the Park Dock. Should you wish to discuss these matters further you \ should feel free to contact me on xxxxx. If after 25 minutes I have still failed to answer, I'll buy you a large one in the Cat and Fiddle Pub.
. I remain sir, your obedient servant

I wasn't aware that the word
quinquagenarian
had been "downsized".
When did that happen?

Admittedly it's not as significant as the reduction of the billion in this country to adopt the American billion.
I'm never quite sure when the old English billion lost general usage.
In my schooldays we used the English version so that narrows it done to a rather small window.

Which is ridiculous, of course. Who gave the Americans the right to change it? An English billion is a proper billion.

In Costa Coffee outlets they sell various edibles at incredible prices, including little packets of Stem Ginger biscuits.
There are TWO of these Stem Gingers bikkies in a sellophane packet, & the standard charge is a whopping £1.
Yesterday, at Watford Gap Services, M1, I was charged £1.48.
Two biscuits for thirty bob!
I must be mad.

With your biscuit "habit" that could be quite expensive.
What happened? Did they get you started on shortbread and introduce gradually "harder" biscuits?

Lol, ffs, I do NOT have a biscuit habit! It's a myth.
Seriously, a Latte & 2 bikkies cost me £4.74!

I could easily survive on a food & drink budget of £3 a day.
However, I don't have your celebrity lifestyle to maintain.

A long weekend with Tony back in 07 left me with a £1000 a year latte habit, and that's pretty amazing when you consider the fact that I'm tight enough to have worked out a way of getting the the gas geyser to part with the hot water that would otherwise get left to cool in it's pipes, without hotting more water to push it out.
BTW- I do realise that the paragraph above is probably one of the most unintelligible things I've ever written.
