On the “tikay Tips” thread, there is a tip today for Blackburn Rovers to win tonight. They are playing the Mighty Man Utd, who are leading the Table, & Blackburn are clinging on - just - for their Premiership life.
I decided to accept the tip, but there’s a backstory in truth.
I would really love to see Blackburn survive in the Premiership. Right now, it is oh-so-close, but Blackburn have recovered from a much worse position earlier in the season.
The real thing for me is the way the "fans" have attacked Kean. Even at home, they turned up to the match singing for his dismissal, organising protests, & generally dissing him. He's just a bloke - albeit a well paid one - doing his job, & he does it as well as he can. He seems a decent guy, too. What backbone, courage & he shown though, I doubt many of us could have shown such fortitude, & not many, if any of those fans could have taken that heat, they’d have squealed like babies.
Not many of us would enjoy hearing & seeing complete strangers wishing "the sack" on you or I.
What an odd world some football fans inhabit!
I hope Kean keeps Blackburn up, but whatever happens, he'll be just fine in life. I don't respect many individuals in Premiership Football, but him, yup, & it has nothing to do with his ability, or lack of it, that matters not one jot or iota to me. It's about doing your best in life, & how we deal with the cards we are dealt. He does just fine.

Lettuce is dull beyond belief. You should try Rocket, or maybe baby spinach.

Not just dull, it's unspeakably horrible.
Spinach? Not to be rude Sir, but are you having a laugh? Spinach is the devil's food.

Spinach is actually not bad raw. I'd even go as far as saying it's nice. Have you tried it that way or just the horrible mushy cooked style?

Shares the same birthday as chippyman. He missed it by a day too but despite first impressions my friend Frankie is nobody's fool

Spinach would be fantastic for your health with all its iron content. With your penchant for pineapple on the plate, the vitamin C will aid the iron absorption and you will be fit to join in Mr Red Dogs 150 mile bike ride! But I do prefer Rocket myself.

+1 for rocket
Especially with beef carpaccio - absolutely delightful.
Except when they put nuts on it, but they only do that in America from what I've seen. Philistines.

Sorry guys, who needs rocket lettuce when we could have this for dinner?
I'm practising for when Red & Bobalike come to dinner. This will make them feel more at home.

I can guarantee that combination of foods has never been served up on the same plate ever in the history of the world.
I wouldn't mind, but Lo Salt? Ugh!

Those eggs actually look really nice and I quite admire your resolution in just putting individual things you like on a plate together irrespective of their teamwork - bit like you dress really.
Interesting effort with the salad dressing - may I suggest a simple oil & balsamic with some decent salt & pepper in future. Agree that lettuce serves no useful purpose but some good tomatoes and a few nice leaves aint too shabby. When you want to body build again, throw any number of different quality cheeses on there and that's a tasty little salad.
