Investors Update

Think I should change that to DOWNdate.

No good the last two days, though we had a sweat yesterday, in the $240 Golden Nugget PLO. (Note, PLO, NOT PLO8).

55 runners, & made the Final Table in OK shape, but only 5 paid, & the average stack was 10 Bigs!

I was really determined to try & win it again, 2 years on the bounce would be quite something.

The Table was ultra passive, it was just raise-fold stuff,

Inevitably, the shorties (relative shorties....) kept doubling up, & maybe I overdid the shoving stuff & shoved too often, but I kept getting looked up & getting beaten, then I'd shove again & double.

I had a treble up shot against TWO players in the same hand, both were drawing dead except to a 10 on the River, but you know the rest.

Eventually I shoved A-Q-9-8 into A-K-10-9 & was all locked up, & failed to do a get.

Shame really, thought we were up & running, but it was not to be. I don't regret any of my plays in the Final though, I think I did the right things. Wrong time though.

PLO again today, Binions $300.

Got some GREAT "people stories" from yesterday, will try & Post them later, or Blog them in the morning. Tremendous fun, the whole Tourney.

It was incredibly cold in the GN yesterday, we all sat there shivering, but GN seemed unable or unwilling to adjust the Aircon, so now I'm full of cold, bugger.

A gulch is a deep v-shaped valley, larger than a gully (according to wiki).

Just saw Marcel Luske. In a vest. A VEST

Must be a first.

WhatEVER you do, if you engage Marcel in convo, do NOT mention FIDPA. You'll regret it if you do, I promise you.

I made that mistake when interviewing him in Barcelona in about 2004, & the cameraman ended up growing a beard whilst Marcel went on a monologue of epic proportions.

More recently, he "invented" & patented a board game, & he asked if he could come on Channel 861 as a Guest to promote it.

"Show me" I said, & so he produced this board game in a box from a carrier bag. Standard thing, dice, questions, but poker based.

On the front, it said suitable for players aged 5 to 15

I really struggled to explain to him why that might not wash on Sky Poker, or any responsible TV Channel......

Have to admire his boundles passion though, & I find him great table company, & I do like him.

bit too advanced? :p

I might have to grind the £100+15! tourney on Saturday to find a way out of possible future indebtedness althiugh I still remain extremely confident of your binkability.

I don't recognise that dealer Tony although I've only played at The Nugget in the last few years in Oct./Nov. in the regular cardroom that has around ten tables.

My favourite downtown dealer is the older black guy in Binions who's been around there for ever it seems. He says "you the man" when it's your turn to bet and rarely if ever makes a mistake. Lovely guy too.

At what point would someone thing pitching a poker based game to under 15s was a good idea?

It's like when someone comes up the stairs on Dragons' Den and says

"Hello, Dragons. My name is Terry and today I'm looking for £250,000 for 2% of my company, Buzzip Ltd, which makes roller skates for bumble bees"

I would think describing any part of your body as a gulch, gully or valley would be an enormous turn-off to all but the most niche of clientele.

Are you in vegas tal?

Yes sir. Currently making the locals happy, by way of stories, brummie accent and forcing my money into their pockets.
