All about the aisle seat. Extra couple of lateral inches of leg room, straight out to the facilities/stretches and easy exit in case of emergency.

Safe flight home, sir.

I don't need much leg room these days, I've reached the shrinking age. Karabiner is shrinking, too. Tom is still expanding though.

If you go to the gambler's bookshop Tony I would keep the cab waiting.

Unless it's moved it's in a really seedy part of town.

I've not been there for over ten years but I reckon it's worth considering or getting a second opinion as I'd hate you to lose that watch again or get appropriated by a crack-whore.

<edit> Or both heaven forbid.

This.

Can't say it matters whether it's an emergency or not, I'm not getting up too lively either way...

Ouch, THAT bad Ralph?

I never knew Vegas even had seedy areas.

Fair point about the cab though, bet it is impossible to hail a cab in that part of town.

Have they stopped having a stall at WSOP?

It did move a couple of years ago, in a less seedy part of town but getting taxi to wait is a good idea!

All the stalls, apparel & merchandise stands have packed up & gone home. The place dies after Day Three.

If you were to walk out of the back door of Binion's old card-room and cross the road, keep walking for 100 yards, you would find yourself in one of the worst parts of LV, unless of course you were looking to score some hard drugs or a cheap hooker in which case you would have found gold dust.

If you were to then walk about a mile towards the strip you would find the gambler's bookshop, literally in the back of beyond. I remember walking back to downtown from there in '94 and taking my watch off and putting it in my pocket so as not to appear out of place.

There are some very dangerous spots in town.

Thanks Ralph.

You seem very well-informed about these matters.

Excellent, & thank you for the lovely PM.

Everyone except Dylan, Scotty & Ryan (details awaited from them) should have received their cash by now.

Oh, I've not paid Matt Rusell & Chompy, I've decided to grim both those buggers.

Just heard the awful news that Alan Whicker has died. He must have been quite old, mid-eighties I guess?

Whicker's World was a hugely popular Show back in the day & he was a really big name.

RIP Alan.

Sad news about Alan Whicker, I heard about it at work today.

Did you also hear about the Dreamliner catching fire at Heathrow today?

Yes, I had a bunch of texts & phone calls from home about it.

The PPRuNe thread has details......

http://www.pprune.org/rumours-news/518971-ethiopean-787-fire-heathrow.html

There have been a spate of lithium battery related fires on the 787, but this does not appear to be battery related. The previous 787 fires are detauiled here.....

http://www.pprune.org/rumours-news/505455-faa-grounds-787s.html

....and following today's problem, yet another thread has been started by some smartarse, entitled "DreamBurner 787"......

http://www.pprune.org/rumours-news/519004-dreamburner-787-whats-future.html

Whatever caused today's fire is quite odd - note the fuselage has been burned through in two areas just forward of the tailplane.
