Vegas & The Aftermath - Diary

The Baseball was simply stunning, photos to follow shortly hopefully.

Unfortunately, when I got back to my hotel, they evicted me! Some confusion over my departure date (it had been booked by the office), & also, it seems, the credit card to pay for the last 10 days had been declined.

A Security Guard stood over me whilst I hurriedly packed, then I went down to Reception & settled the unpaid portion of the bill, which was about $1,000.

I then became, officially, for the first time in many a decade (but not the first time), officially homeless.

So, dragging my luggage behind me, I walked all the way to the Gold Coast hotel (around 6 miles) & took a room there for tonight.

What a palaver, but these things happen.  

On the plus side, my new room overlooks a Car Park, which even has lorries in it. Photos to follow.

I blame Jeeves entirely, & I plan to sack him for this.

I am now resident (until tomorrow morning) in The Gold Coast, but have returned to the Rio Media centre to print off my Boarding Pass & stuff for the flight home. Gotta swerve the Security Guards though, in case they re-evict me.

I know, I know. I wanted to take the piss, but the way I'm running at the moment, he woulda be serious and I would have looked bad. Sigh.

The Baseball was awesome.

I watch a lot of it on TV, but nothing prepared me for what it is like in real life.

The accuracy & speed of the fielders throws is nothing short of genius, & they throw the ball like a bullet, & thwack, it hits the fielders glove precisely.

Lots of in-between innings entertainment, plenty of food stalls, roomy seats, each with a cup holder, the whole thing was top notch.

We had seats right behind the catcher bloke, could not have been closer, & they cost $20.

We all sang songs between innings, too. No, really.
