It was all going so well.......

Down to 14,000 after losing a 12,000 pot.

I had.......

We saw this flop......

     two spades

The turn was spectacular........

So many ways to get there, lots of nut nut stuff going off.

River was not so good.....

I think I should have maybe shoved the turn. My man had the aces with a low draw, so I doubt he folds.

Bugger.

Level 3 ends, we have yet to recover from that big one which failed to do a get, and remain on 14,000.

100-200 now.

10 minutes before the end of that level, the Dealer made a quite inexplicable error, the Floor were summoned and he, arguably, compounded it.

So it all kicked off for fully 5 minutes, another Floor was called and everyone was getting uppity.

It was not really resolved satisfactorily.

Just been quartered again after the nut worst river, I had top set and nut low, but the river gave my man the nut flush along with his nut low.

12,000. Damn.

Two big hands which swung swong on the river means I am playing 12,000 rather than 30,000.

Such is the game, just need to get on with it and wait for one to fall my way.

Great chance to forget back to starting stack after I bet 4,000 on the river with nut low and a really bad (4-2) flush.

My man tanks for 3 minutes, but eventually calls with a better flush.

He really looked like he planned to fold, but it was not to be.

Woulda been rather nice to get back to starting. Anyway, plenty time.

Just seen Flushy, he is busto.

Ryan just stopped by too.

Level 4 complete, and we are in doldrums city with 9,100, blinds going 150-300.

Don't think I did a thing wrong except to upset Lady Variance, who seems to have the lip on with me.

No need to press the panic button yet, but if we drift much lower, we will have to get the gamble stick out.

We won't be sinking too low, for sure.

Hard to believe I have dusted 10,000 off from my peak, but that's how it is.

Off we go again.

Gamble mode well and truly engaged.

Do your worst, Lady Variance, you fickle little tart.

B-U-S-T-O

Well that was horrible.

Ran incredibly well first two levels, then it went completely the other way.

Lovely comp, perhaps my favourite tourney of the whole year, nice atmo, perfect structure, playable table, and failed to last beyond Level 6. Can't make any excuses either.

Pretty sure I did not do too much wrong, but no matter, I'm on the rail.

My exit hand was.......

My man had (something like, can't recall exactly).....

  two spades

High flop please.

It came all low, so I am chopping at best, then he hit the wheel and, I think, the 6 high straight.

My hand was not the greatest PLO8 jobbie, but with a bowl behind it was enough.

What a game poker is, some days it can be a bitch, other days a beauty.

The Rio corridor will seem very long tonight.

Anyway, we are in a pretty tidy hole now.

Next up, I think, is a $600 PLO at Venetian tomorrow, though if there is a PLO8 alternative somewhere, I might consider that, I just love PLO8. Mostly.

Night all.

Will need to buy some dollars soon at this rate. Never imagined I would be this far in with only one mini cash. Luckily, I have sterling with me.

Morning Mr T.

My theory on the pylons is that they want to keep the wires carrying the electricity as level as possible to prevent seepage, or whatever the correct term is, and not lose too much of the current at the destination.

"line loss" was the term used back in the day for describing the reduction in power arriving at destination due to the transmission/distribution mechanism.
