I played golf at Wollaton Park GC today which is also pretty damn fantastic especially in this coolish summer which we are currently experiencing, perfect golfing climate on a wonderful course.
I play my poker in the evenings online with a glass of wine in hand.
PS I also managed to chalk up a "W" in the $33 Omania the other night for the first time ever

Meanwhile, bruised & bloodied, but undaunted, I'll be playing the $600 PLO @ Venetian @ 5pm.
I'm joining!
Getting the team back together for one last go at the 1-2-3. Tikay was saying there were lots of alternates for the last omaha, so get there early. Will probably be there 4.15 and get a coffee

I didn't mean to sound ungrateful for the compliment.

....& get well soon animal, who has decided to go home, as he is not too well.
Sad to hear this. I was covering an adjacent event to yours yesterday and saw him take his seat - remember thinking to myself that he didn't look too good but assumed he'd just been playing too much as I'd seen him in a few events!
Hope its nothing serious and get well soon Animal.

BUSTO . 114 TH FOR $2410. NEXT PAY JUMP AT 99TH.
Jason Koon who had been playing a lot of hands opens for 5100 off a stack of 180,000. Me small blind with 29000 ( blinds just gone to 1200/2400 with 400 ante so 7200 chips to see 9 hands ) . He just saw me double when I pushed over an early position raise of a massive stack and get called. Me AQ , Villain K-J . I flop an ace for full double up from a bowl . Thinking Jason Koon knows I am playing tight , I push K-Q CLUBS as I think he folds most of his opening range. He snaps with 8-8 flops a set and that is history. thinking I SHOULD PEEL A FLOP AND CHECK, FOLD IF I MISS AS I HAVE BUTTON NEXT HANDS AND STILL 24000 . interested IN ANY COMMENTS OF BEST STRATEGY.
Off to 6pm deepstack to spin up my winnings .
Best of luck to Tikay and everyone else at the Venetian.

Great result Simon, well done.
That exit hand? You cannot peel from a 12 big stack IMO. Neither can you raise/fold. You can shove, raise call, or fold, IMO.
The play looks ok to me. A flip to double up off 12 bigs? All you can eat, baby.

Hit & Miss
Err, b-u-s-t-o.
Not even give my Stakers a sweat tonight, apologies. It started at 5pm, & I was back at Rio just after 7pm.
The exit came out of a clear blue sky. One moment I was sitting there quietly, watching what's what, the next I know all my chips were in the middle, & they never came back.
Think the exit was fine (!), or more accurately, "standard".
I had button raised 3 limpers (it was a very limpy table) with.....
2 callers.
We saw this flop.
First to speak bet the pot. I have top set, & nut flush draw, this looks like a great spot to play a big pot, in fact, it's a dream spot imo. So I potted it, & when he re-potted I sort of assumed he had a small set. In fact he had the rather lovely........
I don't fold his hand either, though he was not to know his flush draw was dead.
So I just need my man to miss, or if he does hit, a heart or a pair up does the job for me. He hit, I missed.
Think it's all pretty standard.
It was the very start of Level 3, so I could fire another bullet & get 75 Bigs (15,000, Blinds were then 100-200), but after some dithering, I just thought it better to get out of Dodge before I set fire to another $600. Confidence is slightly less than maximum right now. If I had hung around 5 more minutes, I'm sure I'd have stuck in another bullet.
Shame really (we've heard that before) it was full of fun Brits - Doobs, Cos, Fraser, Kev O'Leary, At It Bradley, Lappos, Jerome Bradpiece & so on.
Move on, next case.....

Tuesday's Action
My Schedule lists these three options......
WSOP Tuesday 16th June - $1,500 PLO
Binions Tuesday 16th June $220 PLO
Orleans, Tuesday 16th June $240 PLO8
I now learn that the Orleans thing is Limit, so that's off the list.
Which means either the WSOP $1,500 PLO (decent structure, 7,500 chips, 1 hour clock, starts at 25-50), which is great, or the little $220 PLO @ Binions.
I'm inclined to think a drop in class might not go amiss, so Binions might make sense, though I have to say, I'm still very tempted to play the $1,500 WSOP PLO.
I'll dither all night, & then tomorrow morning, promptly dither some more. I seem to have a 2 day break after tomorrow. That'll do no harm, but I'll deffo play one or other tomorrow.
I seem to have developed what appears to be a mild case of neuralgia, too. It's not bothering me much, mostly at night, it's painful to sleep on that side (it's on the side of my face), or when I first try to eat, but otherwise, it's not much of a problem.
I went on google to research it, & it says it is caused by
many different factors,
including old age
google is shite.
