Don't know if you managed to catch this Teeks  http://www.discoveryuk.com/shows/racing-extinction/

repeated tonight at 10pm on Animal Planet

Morning David,

I did actually, yes - in fact it seemed to be "Racing-Extinction" night last night on the Docs Channel, numerous similar Shows were on.

So I had finished my poker session, I watched it, which was a bit depressing really. Then I watched 2 old "Thick of It" episodes, with Malcolm Tucker in full flow in front of the Goodling Inquiry, & Baroness Sureka. There are days when I so want to be Malcolm Tucker, there really are. But it would not work, ranting & raving, shouting at people, never works, never in the history of history has shouting solved a damn thing, people just don't react well to it.  It'd be nice though, when the Serious Heads are on my case at work, to vent occasionally.....

I have to disagree Tikay.

Many a chore has been completed after the wife has bellowed at me to move my fat lazy backside.

I'm sure this is the norm in many a household.

Don't tell the RSM that shouting doesn't work.

Couple of options of how you should treat people in the workplace

Could only find one with subtitles but had to include when shouting was mentioned!

Australia's longest-ever grain train has rolled across north-western New South Wales carrying 5,000 tonnes of wheat.
Comprised of five locomotives and 73 wagons stretching 1.3km (0.8 miles).

Could be a late night for you Tikay....

23.15 tonight, The World's Most Favourite Train. Surprisingly it's not the Northern Rail York to Blackpool service, that only takes 3 days and stops off at 41 stations en route. What a world we live in.

Also that Trevor Mcdonald Las Vegas show is on tonight, 9pm on ITV, could be a decent watch.

Pedant alert!

The World's Most Favourite Train. Is that the title? It sounds wrong. I thought you could have a favourite, but not a most favourite.

Further pedant alert:

Hasn't the blurb there just described a favourite train journey, rather than the favourite train? That'd be the Orient Express (nb) or Thomas the Tank Engine (nap)

Ooops, famous not favourite, my bad.

Still surprised Orient Express is deemed more famous than Northern Rail.

Afraid not. Next week, he sits in a 2/5 game at Bellagio between four 20 somethings in hoodies, shades and Beats, a fat bloke watching a series of 24 on his laptop and a Chinese guy eating with his mouth open for the entire day and sneezing into his top.

Don't worry. He's staying at El Cortez so there should be some drama towards the end of the show. That's if he hasn't done his money in The D (I mean seriously? The guy reckons he's blown a million dollars in the D?!!)

Eager for action, hot for the game
The coming attraction, the drop of a name
They knew all the right people, they took all the right pills
They threw outrageous parties, they paid heavily bills

I heard that last night. Isn't that eyrie?

There's hope for you yet.

That sort of music is a bit young for you, is it not, Tom? Can't imagine Mrs Red approving.

I'm a bit fixated about Joe Walsh. Like so many of the rock stars from that period, he was immersed in decadence, & addicted to cocaine & alcohol, & must have been near to death many a time.  I can't find  a single thing to admire about any of that, I really can't. Tossers.

And yet........when these guys somehow climb out of the hole, & get off the addiction wagon, & resume their careers, often into old age, I have some weird & illogical admiration for them.

And they always seem to have such beautiful daughters. How that work?

And how did this guy somehow mature into sensible parenthood? (In this case the beautiful daughter is a handsome boy who just looks like a girl).

He's 68 - SIXTY CHUFFING EIGHT. And about to be the father of twins.

How did these guys survive?

And why do I have this grudging respect for them?

Ha, true, but that's different, that's not an attempt to win hearts & minds, that's a bloody instruction.

DO IT

I'm talking about debating, & how to have a meeting of minds. Mr Shouty Angry never convinced anyone, ever. Not in my world, anyway.

If I may enquire, how is your health these days?
