I so wish I'd lived in an earlier age, when manners counted for something, when we were more chivalrous. And a Red Card for the first to suggest I did.
Stone age not early enough for you?
Are you old enough to play poker Kiddo?

DT

lets people play on laptops at a live table? That's ridiculous.
Especially given they don't allow mobile phones because of the collusion risk - has Simon Trumper not heard of MSN?
Allow them to play on
DT
D
on their laptops away from the table by all means, but playing at the table is crazy, and leads to the situation Tikay described.
There is no collusion risk if there is only one Lappie-Man per Table.
We have to accept that the Online Club helps pay for the best Live Poker facility in the world, so we gotta accept a frustration here & there. When we play Online, even on the best sites, the internet plays up sometimes, nothing's perfect, we just shrug our shoulders & move on.
It's just something I get a bit frustrated with. I need to look inwards for the answer, not outwards.
It'll not stop me playing there tonight, in their lovely structured £100 Freezeout Jobbie!

When you asked them how they were, were you genuinely prepared to hear anything other than, 'I'm good, how are you?'
I'm all for saying hello, good morning or whatever, but you never hear me ask how you are unless I genuinely care and want to know. People who ask 'How are you today' as they breeze past on their way to their next greeting do me head in.
Of course it's a genuine question. But they have to be happity-doo-dah, or I have them shot. I don't want their dull grey clouds in my back garden. Unless they shed some rain, of course. Good stuff, that rain - did I ever tell you about rain, & water?......

players are allowed to bring Lappies to the Table, & play Online Poker on them
It's not the rudeness of this situation that struck me, but more that the guy hidden behind the laptop just isn't playing poker. All that extra info that's now available to him in the live game is being ignored. He's so used to internet poker he's just playing cards and isn't really breathing in the atmosphere of the game. This will mean he will never be as good as he could be and wont enjoy it half as much either.

I love that sentence I've enboldened!
But that's his problem, he has the choice, the other 8 don't have the choice, they just have to suffer him.
It's not a big thing, but this is my Diary, & I like to jot these things down as I go.

Lol.. funny you should say that...
Playing last night for the first time at a venue in leighton buzzard, and i have a semi run in with this fella at the table..
He is sb, playing 4400 stack, 200/400... he makes it 2k, i am big blind playing 15k stack, i have two black Jacks and stick in a load of 1ks to cover him, obv... and he sits there for a minute dwelling - and dwelling, and then stares at me, and dwells some more.. He doesnt know what to do, and then says one of the funniest things i have heard for a while... (remember his chip count..)
"you must be strong if you are going to put in 10k" - LMAO, i just put in more than enough to cover you mug! Its not rocket science. It was especially funny because the guy clearly fancied himself as a player.
Anyway, he eventually passed - even funnier - and a hand or two later he says to the table that he passed Jacks... And that i am full of shit and he should have called..
I ask him what suits... "Well, errr... what does that matter anyway? It only matters after the flop what suits.."
"I think you would remember mate" i say as he starts going so red its clear hes lieing..
"Stop mugging yourself off mate, he says as he gets up to leave the table for a minute!
LOL.. 1-0 to rookie..
Our table then gets broke, and me and another fella have a chuckle on our new table about it... I find out he is one of the regulars and sometimes helps run the place...
I move again, back to his table, now its a bit crapshooty and i am just messing about anyway... i jam 4 pots running blind etc etc.. i jam a 5th.. folds to him, he has a decision, and then starts back with the mouth...
"Are you old enough to play?" - He looks at the other players.. "Shall i ask for the boss to do an ID check?" - oh haha you crack me up.. He then asks me if he should..
"I dont mind.. I have none with me"
"Well then you wouldnt be able to play if you couldnt prove it"
"Ah well, you ask me for ID and i'll probs ask if this place is legal or not?"
"Errrrr.... Touche, lets play, i fold"
GG UL 2-0 PWNED IMO..

Hehe. When I eventually caught his attention, & he's given it the "do what? - "no, I already Raised", "what, have you re-Raised me?" - "how much" etc, he moved in on me, & I bricked it, as per. Still, he did show A-K. I only Raised it because I thought he was so busy Lappying I could slip it through un-noticed! Wrong again, I so totally suck.

I've never seen two players on the same Table using a Lappie, & I don't think
DT
D
would allow that.
how could they not?
A and B both playing the DTD live tourney at different tables and also both playing the same DTD online tourney on lappies. player A is now moved to player B's live table. so now one of then either has to sit out of one or other of their comps while the other can carry on? hardly a fair ruling if it came to that

Well no, but it's not that prevelant. It's occurred on "my" Table no more than 4 or 5 times in the last month, & I prob play there 2 or 3 times a week.
I suppose Murphy's law will come into play eventually, & it will happen, two Lappie-Peeps sharing a Table. I'll have a quiet word with Mother Hen tonight & see what his thoughts are on that unlikely scenario.
