A Prog on Radio 4 this morning got me thinking.
In my youth, there would not be a single home in the UK that did not have one of these.
I'll be very surprised if.....
1) Anyone has one now.
2) Mrs Red does not have at least two - a regular one, & a Sunday best.
You HAD to have a posh one for Sundays, or when Aunty came to tea..
My parents deffo still have one.

With respect Boo - & dont take this wrong - but you do live in East Anglia. Nothing that happens out there involving wooly things would surprise me.

It's amazing that folks get their money in so light these days......
This Flop yesterday at Brighton Rendezvous prompted a bit of chip-throwage.
I can only recall seeing this scenario Live once before.
What are the odds on this happening,. anyone know?
I remember that hand to which I believe you refer as it was at Gala Nottingham.
The flop was something like 9, 7, 4 and there was aflurry of betting and all the chips went in.
A set of each of them and some lucky bugger called Tikay spiked the case 4 on the turn to scoop !
If I hadn't dealt the hand myself I'd have sworn it was crooked.

if you have a pair the odds on 2 other people having a pair and all 3 of you flopping a set is about 41500-1

Funnily enough I had 66 in that hand and folded to all the action on the flop, incredibly the river was a 6 !

This Headline in The Times seems 100% inaccurate.
Undiscovered body
The body of a pensioner lay undiscovered for more than 2 years after her family thought she'd moved into a Care Home, an Inquest in Fakenham, Nortfolk, was told yesterday. Phyllis Szczyrbak was found in April after youths alerted police.
"Undiscovered body discovered" might be better.
All very sad for Phyllis, too, who has the odd distinction of having 16 letters in her maiden & surname, but only 2 vowels.
Out-Geek THAT Tighty.
