word is he was a bit higher up the chain than being a drug dealer, there was quite a crime syndicate operating from that area of kent in the 90s, doubt the story will ever come out though
I heard he never missed a single episode of Z-Cars. GREAT TV, that, ditto Dixon of Dock Green.

I really MUST do some work, I'm so behind (I blame Ralph), so I'll reply tomorrow or later tonight hopefully.
But I'm not actually wholly convinced that "The Mafia", as such, exists. There are some Premiership Bad Boys, yes, but not the way the media paint it.
By the same token, I've never believed that Al Qaeda exists as such, or in the manner portrayed by Bush & Co. Terrorists, yes, a collective of them yes, but not sure it's an "organisation".
Don't deride me for that, because there's worse.
I am utterly fascinated by the LHC at CERN. I mean, it's BIG beyondf belief, yes? I want to read every book ever written about it, & I will. But I'm yet to be convinced that they DO actually whizz particles round inside it a quillion times per nana-second, & cause them to collide. I mean, how would we ever know if they were telling the truth? Supposing after they built it, it never worked at all? Would they dare tell the Governments who paid for it, "oops, we messed up". Or would they say, "oh yes, ahem, it's working a treat, trust us, we are scientists, so we could not tell a porkie".
I know that Boeing 747's fly, despite it being improbale, as I can see it. I can't see a particle collide. Not with my eyes as bad as they are, anyway.

It's not minding your own business though is it? It's giving up your business and everything you own if they ask for it.
How anyone can idealise a protection racket type business I'll never know. This is just evil people bullying people out of money which they have worked for. They will take everything these people earn and anyone who makes a stand is hurt badly until they have no choice but to pay up.
At least with drug dealers you have the option not to buy drugs. No drug dealer will force you to buy his crack or coke or whatever as far as I know.
Nobody has ever been forced to lend money to a grimmer either and yet they are weasels. Sorry pimply weasels.

obv I'm talking about the mafia in e. europe and they very much exist, they're a factor to consider in any business operation in the region. businesses who don't know how to deal with them are unlikely to succeed
the italian/american mafia model as portrayed by the media however I'm also decidedly dubious of

Every time I'm on a plane I smile as it takes off. It really shouldn't happen

You read the book about our more local
true gentleman
Tikay?
To whom do you refer?
Is he a Gangster or a poker player?
Yes, yes, I've set myself up for the punch-line here.....
Think he's referring to the book "Hoods" about Nottingham gangsters.
Very interesting.
Sigh.... One of 'em sure wasn't best man at my sister's wedding......
Oh, I have that book, but I've never read it!
But I will, straight after Hollyoaks finishes.

Lol at myself for saying this after everything I've said on here today but he really is a nice bloke

Suppose I lived near them in Brooklyn long enough to not be bothered. In fact, they've been very generous to my brother-in-law and his family throughout the years too. Suppose it helps too that his daughters were attending the same school as their sons and daughters.
