Nice tale that, MANTIS.
There are some right pervs about these days, it's fair to say (deal me in), but I think that may have just had me falling about laughing.

Well I spent a few hours on the Diary last night, & ended up oversleeping this morning.
I don't have working hours as such, I'm free to come & go as I please - perfect, I've always had that sort of Deal, for 30 years or more now, I cannot cope with regimented hours, but it did my head in this morning, as it distrurbed my routine, & I was tetchy all day.
A good day on the diet though, I came in 100 under par on my 1,500 calorie count target.

I managed to find time to read both of Rob Yong's new Diaries - he's an awesome writer, & always leaves the reader gagging for more.
An urgent PM landed, so I had to open the PM Inbox, & I wish I had not, the PM itself was ugly - though necessary - & I ended up wishing I had never seen it. It's rather like peeking into someones desk drawers at work, or a ladies handbag, it's just better not to, as you see things that disturb you.
Having replied to it, at some length - it was from a dear friend - I took a peek at some of the other PM's in there. Ugh. What is it these days with grown-ups squabbling like pre-primary school kids? Aaarrggghh, my time is being soaked up by this nonsense.
But I had 4 or 5 really touching "welcome back" & "well done on the new job" texts. Thank you. I was not seeking either, but when I saw the Area 51 type theories for my absence, it sort of compelled me to explain. Anyway, it's good to be proud now & then. Not too often, mind.
Believe it or not, & for my own peculiar reasons, I'm still proud that I can read & write to a degree of competence. The novelty will wear off eventually I suppose. It's only lasted 50 years thus far.....
Do others have particular areas of their life that they are proud of, or ashamed of?
I'm afraid I have far too many of the latter.

Phil was at Luton last night Crow, Got ridic unlucky against a terrible player twice and was soon departed. Said he wouldnt be back for 3 months, but heard a whisper he was there again tonight. You should get up to the G more often, just avoid chompy and you'll be ok.

I plan to do a mini tour of the West of Scotland very soon Iron, before Vegas for sure.
Only 3 or 4 days, but I'll plan it so that I drive through the Pass of Glencoe at first light - that must be one of the most spectacular roads in the UK, more so in the spring. Then on up to Ballaculish, to a little private Hotel I used to know well. From there, long walks over the paths around Loch Leven. I stayed there at that Hotel many years back with the lady of the moment, it must have been this time of the year, as The Masters was on, & I was keen to watch it. But the TV Aerial had blown away in a storm, & we had no TV for 4 days. I can truly say it was one of the most memorable 4 days I've had in my life. The swivel chair sticks in my mind, for some reason.
I'm arguing with myself whether to catch the train up in truth - I've always wanted to catch the night sleeper to Fort William. It's deffo a Bucket Lister.
I just need a wee break from Forum nonsense right now, & I don't man blonde, I spend a lot of time on Forums, & some of the stuff on them is starting to grate. What happened to manners, & writing skills, & being bright enough to pose a question in such a way that you'll get the answer you seek?
Smartarse one-liners & profanities only tell me what a dumbschmuck the Poster is.
But amongst all that, you do find occasional islands of stunning writing skills people who write & present themselves so well. The Rob Yong Diaries are a great case in point, as are, when I think about it, most of the diaries on blonde.
Now, you've set me off.

I managed to make a bit of progress on Twitter & FB today, & got some articles out into the domain, &, at last, I managed to get the click-count ticking over a bit better.
The Twitter "followers" went from 4 to about 50 (including blondepoker.com!), & the click-count, which was stuck in single figures, shot up to over 50 in the space of an hour when I published a bit of an article elsewhere. I used a new "short link" from bit.com or whatever it's called, & that seemed to make a big difference. Actually, on second thoughts, I think what made the difference was an article I managed to get uploaded onto SkySports.com, which is an incredibly high-traffic site, with huge SEO-ability. I was quite surprised they accepted it, but they did, & it looks like they may give me a regular slot now. I will be well pleased if they do, as that one site will do a lot of my work for me. But the Twitter follower count, & the click-count are stll both abysmally low, & I need to find a better solution.
I sent an Article to someone who is a sort of Affiliate Grand Master, & who disseminates articles to lots of different sites. I had a job getting on terms with her, but we were all luvvy duvvy eventually.
But she rejected my article as it was written in the first person, & it needed to be in the third person. I'm still struggling to learn all this, all these little things, but I'll get there. So I rewrote it & she accepted it, & hopefully it will go out tomorrow.
I still can't quite fathom this Twitter malarkey though, & until I do, my tweets (see, "tweets") will be off-kilter. Some folks are on it all day, do 50 or 60 each day - "just brushed my teeth, off to work now".
And I can't see how I am supposed to see all these tweets, no box pops up or anything, I just find them when I am poking around trying to work the bloody thing.
I referred to a work colleague in an article today by a peculiar, & new, nick, & within 10 minutes, google alert picked it up & she was inundated with texts ribbing her about it. Impressive, this SEO stuff.

Played Leg 3 of TKO III tonight, & we were 2-0 down, best of 5, so had to win. The result was too close to call, but I think we just shaded it. 1,672 runners took part, & I finished about 1,496th, running KK into AA.
Then I played 2 small Omaha Tourneys - I was on TKO duty so it was Company money - & finished 3rd & 1st respectively. Doubt I cleared £50, but it's incredibly relaxing after a stressful day grappling with stuff I don't understand.
A hand went off at 150-300, whilst I was monsta chip-daddy. I was BB, & the SB only had 470 chips, with Blinds at 150-300. 6 seater, it went (at 150-300) - limp, limp, limp, limp, & none of them had above 10 Bigs, & I have top side of 50 Bigs. The SB then jams for the whole 470, fancy that, so I re-potted it behind with A-K-Q-Q DS. Everyone folds, there was some sighage in the chat-box, & Shortie binked a 2 outer on the River to sextuple up. Well, you think I'd robbed a church, everyone got on my case, "why bet there?". It was a no-brainer to me, but I guess we all see it different. More upset Clients though, whoops.

I picked up two "spare" Shows today, just like that.
"Can you do these 2 dates?" says Attila, "yes please" I reply, & that's that - 2 Shows, & two Show Fees. How lucky is that? I'm not exactly on Rossy's fees, but it's still serious money, to me, anyway. I was only given 4 Shoes for May originally, but it's up to 7 already, which is right up with March & April, the best months I've ever had in terms of Show numbers.
I forgot, too, that I'm working this Thursday, doing the Sky Sports Simulcast, & we have Lawrie Sanchez (sp) as Guest.
Tomorrow it's Noon until 7pm doing 4 different Pre-Records with Rich Orford. I'm taking the Running Order & Show Brief (a sort of prompt list) to bed tonight to research for it, how sad is that? But I never use scripts, & almost never Autocue, so I need to have everything "just so" in my bonce.
My car park booking for Gatters arrived today - £80 for 16 days I think, which is a bit of a bargain I think, though the Company pay for it of course. You sort of park by the Terminal Door, as easy as it could be, & a car-jock drives the car wherever to park it.
The new car is a dream, lovely, it's almost a pleasure to drive up the M1 in it. Almost. The annual insurance falls due next week - £334 - how cheap is that, £7 per week?
Spoke to Simon Trumper today, I was supposed to meet him this weekend, but he's off Skiing. Simon Trumper skiing! God bless him. I've come to like him a lot, & respect him even more.
Enough, it's half-past midnight again.
Have a good day tomorrow, (today?) all of you.

If you are getting into Twitter TK, they are apparently rerunning the battle of Britain on the anniversary, using the diaries from the actual pilots.

Rossy has resigned hasn't he? Who takes over as the highest paid BBC star? Davey and Matty possibly, Chrissy or maybe even Paxy?

Thanks Rod.
When we went to Duxford we actually sat in an aircraft suimulator which was programmed to be a WII pilot in combat, & to be honest, it scared me big time. The bravery of those pilots was extraordinary. I often wonder, should there be another conventional war, if modern youth would be as brave & durable, but many stories from the Falklands War seem to suggest they would, in particular that remarkable overnight yomp into Stanley.
