Yes that Stratford character really does sound like a person you would stay away from rather than employ! And the Liverpool story was great. I loved the idea that the old owners wouldn't accept a British High Court ruling so they went to Texas to get one they did like!

And not only do we have the UTD & Liverpool sagas but now Gazza is spiralling out of control (even more out of control?) Convicted of drink driving & now arrested in a drugs bust!

Regarding the finances in football, they beggar belief and I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking it's only a matter of time before one of the big clubs goes tits up!

Interesting about the screen tests for Poker 425. I wasn't aware of any other peeps being brought in apart from the day I saw you, Rhow & the other guy who I can never remember his name. He ended up doing travel shows where he went to S & M dungeons in Germany & the such like.

I'll always be proud of Poker 425. I sort of got the gig because I happened to be in on the day you had the screen test & I said to Paul Tilling that I'd be interested in working on the new poker show. MY CV was impressive, I told Paul that I had watched lots of Late Night Poker & had just started playing online!

Given the budget we had, I think we put together a great little show that had reports from the main poker tournaments around the UK & Europe a few days after they had finished. I don't think anyone did that at the time. When we got to cover the EPT, we were the only other TV Crew there.

I saw Rhow a couple of weeks back. She is in good form, very much loved up & has just started a new job working for ITV's "Red Button" service. Paul Tilling is working for Coral's, heading up their betting shop TV service. Billy sounds like he is still getting enough work with Sky to earn a living & I work with Marcus quite a lot. I believe Sky have pulled the plug on Clive's dog show, so I'm not too sure what he is up to but I'm sure he will fine. As for DC, it's a very sad how that's gone. I heard there was a snippet about him in Claude Duval's column in the Sun on Saturday.

I heard that one. The Saudi connection was regarding the credit card's ability to circumnavigate Sharia law.

Did you hear the preceding programme? It was a big brain maths jobbie, right up your street.

No. What was it called, & about, please?

Note to Mr jakally.

Did you know that next door have a "jakally", & a "JACKALLY", & both played the same Tourney last night?

You have an imposter.

Imitation, and flattery, etc........
I thoughtfully arranged an early exit, to help you avoid any potential confusion later on.

Will be up in Blackpool next week Mr K  - I will wear something distinctive so that you can distinguish me from any similar types ...... (...young, attractive, athletic, ......).

What did Clod Duval write about DC? Take The Sun daily, obv, but try to avoid reading Mr Gravy Train's stuff where possible.

I got this half an hour ago - looks like yesterday's talks WERE productive, as I suspectee. Wow, I get one right for a change.

Rooney 1/2 to stay at Old Trafford

Sky Bet have cut Wayne Rooney to 1/2 to stay at Manchester United after the January’s transfer window following support.

Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, and the player himself fuelled speculation that a move could happen as soon as next transfer window when they announced that Rooney had told the club he wanted a move away from Old Trafford.

With fans calling for the England forward to be sold at the first attempt and after recent revelations that a fans’ group held a protest outside the players’ house it could come as a surprise to see him stay, although the club did reveal an offer was still on the table and they had been in further discussions with the player’s representatives.

Rooney’s now 6/4 to leave Old Trafford in January with rivals Manchester City still favourites to land his signature at 7/4. Real Madrid are available at 5/1 to sign the England striker in January, while Barcelona are 7/1 and Chelsea 8/1 to sign the striker.

Sky Bet’s Dale Tempest said: “Very few players ever leave Manchester United by choice and despite everything that has gone on over the last few days money has started to come for Rooney to stay at Old Trafford. His price to leave has now completely reversed.”

Whoops, you scooped me!

Well I never. He played that a bit sharp, eh? Wonder what reception the fans will give him? And how the new dynamic between he & Fergie will work? I'm struggling to understand parts of it, to be honest.

I tried something similar with JNK once, to try & wheedle a better deal, he shot back, as quick as a flash, "The doors over there, leave the car keys on my desk, I'll arrange a Taxi to take you home, Cheerio".

So will those fans that protested outside his house and wrote "sign for City and you're dead" on adverts with his face on, now cheer him the next time he sets foot on the pitch? And does the new contract with lots of money mean that Man Utd now has more ambition?

Yeah, I saw your name on the Entry List - great news.

We are staying at "Big Blue", & you? I'm taking LML up on the Friday. She does not yet know that I plan to head back South at about 7am on the Sunday......

Should be a grand weekend, I'm looking forward to it, & playing the Friday evening. All the TSP-ers will be there, too.

What do you think would have happened if you had fired the second barrel?

Much like Celtic on a clothes shopping spree, I've just gone rooting through some bins, and found Saturday's currant bun. In his diary Clod wrote about Nigel Twiston-Davis and Cornelius Lysaught, but nowt about DC.

Maybe it wasn't last week Chompy. I only got the story second hand and, if it's true, I'm surprised I hadn't heard it before Claude put it in his column. Apparently it was where he was spotted, nothing more than that really
