Ooh that's good. Ended up holed up in a hotel at J16, hopefully home later today
We tried delivering Chrimbo presents from J20 M1. Left at 10. Made it as far south as J12 on the M1. Home at 11.
[ ] took us one hour.

Been in my new Office a week now. Exciting, & scary, all these people I don't know. Mostly girls, under 16, by the look of them, too.
I sit opposite "Mother", who runs Channel 865, & thats it really, I don't know another soul, except for the Deputy Chief Exec-ess of Sky Sports, who is a good friend, & sits nearby.
I sit here quietly, & get on with my stuff, busy busy busy, & it's fine.
Not a soul has introduced themself to me, & I've not introduced myself to anyone. It's OK, I can get on with my work without tittle-tattling & all that stuff.
The Lady who sits behind me seems very pleasant. And important And just a little bit, err, loud. I cannot comment, of course, she's been here 900 years, & seems to run the place, me 5 minutes. So I keep my head down & stay schtum. She's very nice in every way, I'm sure, & most efficient, I can see that just by the way her desk is laid out.
Suddenly, Loud Lady introduced herself to me an hour ago. Ooh.
"Hi, I'm xxxx, & your name is?"
"err, Tony".
Bla bla, da de da.
Then she dropped the bombshell.
"Mind if I put some music on?"
I'm thinking, "MUSIC, WTF?".
"Err, no, of course not, go ahead, nice of you to ask. What we got, a bit of Bieber then?". (Thought that might impress her).
"Oh NOOOO. Just thought it'd be nice, & cheer up the office, if I put some Christmas music on".
"Ooh, that'd be lovely".
So now, Wizzard, Noddy Holder, Snowman
et al
are all being played back-to-back.
I awoke today a little unwell, & because of that, more than usually grumpy. It's usually cleared by now, though. Michael frigging Jackson is not helping, to be honest.

You could always have a quick game of Hi-lo to get away from it. Just for educational purposes ofc

You do know that if you don't say/do something about this today/this week you will be stuck with it forever? It will eat away at you day by day until you blow, save your new colleagues some pain tell them today.

Everyone is on Mr King's case - or was - but we all do dumb things, none more than me.
Working away happily in the office yesterday, & I was suddenly seized by the notion of driving up to Luton to play the £100. With all the roads chaotic, & temps of -4 at 4pm. I never even thought it through, just snap went & did it.
In fact, the roads were clear - empty - & I poodled up, & at last found time whilst driving for a long overdue chat on the 'phone with Tom. (Yes yes, hands-free kit). I feel bad, as I'm so busy right now, but so happily busy, I'm loving my life, & don't want to waste a second. But there are just not enough hours in the day to do all the things I want, &, typically, I forget those who most matter to me sometimes. Tom understands that, & gives me no pressure.
So, I get to Luton, & a pitiful 21 runner Event ensues. But no matter, I go there for a social occasion more than anything else, & generally fold my way into the money quite happily. My Table was "ok". I'm never fussed if the players are good or bad, I just like to share the table with a bunch of friends. Some nights it works out perfect, others less so. It was ok though. Most of the fun regulars were absent - wisely - but it was fine.
Totally card-dead, & with Vinny outplaying me like you would not believe, I sat & passed & passed & passed. Vinny ran his 11.5k up to about 20k, & then all the way down again (& out) before I'd played a hand, but he enjoyed the journey. He has amazing game & would be a big winner if he played less hands & took it serious.
Eventually, I decide to play my token hand, & I limp (sigh...) UTG with
looking to rep massive strength.
Luther, to my immediate right in the BB, pops it up. "What? You not see me limp UTG?".
The script requires me to re-raise now. Backraise, even. I wimpily flat & decide to get another street of value.
It comes A-Q-4. It's quite clear he does not have that A, & if he does, it's a weak one, & I can easily get him off it. How was I to know he'd flopped his set of 4's?
So, I do 80% of my stack with 9 bloody high, wp.
I run the rest into K-K after finding J-J. Night all.
The M1 South at 11pm was -8. Minus 8! I poodle along at 70 on cruise control, life is good.
Suddenly, I realise my car is "floating". Black ice, shit. I just turn off the C-C & don't touch the brakes, & let the car gently decelerate. Phew.
Suddenly, hazard lights everywhere. 6 cards, 2 lorries, are all in a pile, & it's a bad one.
I manage to get past the prang, & continue the whole way at a sedate pace, & eventually get back safely.
And peeps think Mr King is an idiot......
It would not be so bad if I ever leaned my lesson. It's even money I'll be tempted to repeat my stupidity tonight again. Then, one day, I'll have a monster prang & realise what a pratt I am.
I think common-sense in life can be repped by a bell-shaped graph, we start off dumb, wise up, then go doo-lally with age. I'm deffo on the downslope.

Nope, I'm turning over a new leaf, & really trying to like these shite things. Next up, Strictly Come Dancing, X-Factor, Susan Byrne, Christmas jollity, & all that twaddle. Someone yesterday said I was a misanthropist, which I thought meant I give away a lot of money to good causes, until I looked it up. Whoops. So, new leaf, I love Christmas, honest.
Anyway, I dare not say anything, she scares the life out of me.
Your point, of course, is wholly corect.

Groan, Squawky.
I made a really bad call against a newbie last night (to be fair, it was not the best of raises, he did not have a Hi-Lo hand) & got lucky & busted him, & he went apeshit at me. That's me, the Relations Manager of Sky Poker. GG me.
No golf today - you a fair weather hacker, then?

Knew you'd come round to the idea of holiday cheer and all that rubbish eventually. With that in mind, asked Kin to sort a special avatar for you

Don't encourage TK!..It's soo much better to be in the "Hate Christmas non-sense" camp.
