A day off.
Spend the day catching up on my diary, I have so much stuff to catch up on, & questions/comments to reply to, it's been an amazingly interesting & exciting month, or go to the Fox Club in London & play their £150 deepie?........
After a short dither, I've decided to.......(try to) do both.
It's painful to be so behind with my Diary, but my days are so full. I just need to discipline myself better, 30 mins per day would do.
Fox Club £150 for starters, then. Here we go. Just hope it's not sold out.

Was so tired, after a hectic few days/weeks, & was struggling to get enthused about playing the £150 at Fox Poker Club today, but I'm glad I did, I had an absolute ball.
I planned to do a write up about it before I went to bed, but I have had a bit of a "diversion" this last hour, more forum nonsense, so it'll not get done tonight now.
The skies never seem to stay clear for long.

Saw this earlier, and was about to wade in..... absolute unbelievable drivel from an obvious troll.
Kept my promise to myself not to get involved in any virtual arguments and clicked the red 'x'. Pleased I did - could never have been so understanding and professional as you have been in your response.
FWIW I saw the show, and it came across fine to me.
Will talk to you about the QQ hand that was on TOTP next time I see you...

The fact that I didn't reply at the time doesn't mean I didn't read your advice the other day about getting involved in arguments online.
I did read it, and I think it is probably one of the best things ever to be posted on here.
By way of a thank you, the next time we meet, I'm going to let you buy me dinner.

50 years of betting shops this weekend - someone of your vintage on what the olden days were like.

Excellent article and while I very rarely sports bet I reckon the next time I decide to have a punt I'll make my first ever trip to the bookies

Tikay, as you're a nerd of sorts you might be interested in the 'Uncaged Monkeys' tour. I went to see it in Nottingham last night, along with over 2,000 other geeks, and it was excellent. A mixture of science-based mini lectures and lots of science-based comedy it was a really good 3-hour show. Here's a
review of the Oxford show
:
Nottingham's line-up was: Robin Ince, Simon Singh, Chris Addison, Brian Cox, Ben Goldacre, Helen Arney and Dara O'Briain - and I think we got the best line-up of the tour there.
You should go - you'd find it fascinating.

Jason said something on Tom's Diary, but I prefer not to hijack his thread, & anyway, it's quite personal so I'm, going to reply here.
I had been musing on the amount of other people's nettles I find myself being asked to grasp, & I must have worded it badly, because Jason said.....
"....chin up tony. lifes a roller coaster and i'm sure you handle the ride better than most....."
To which I reply.....
Uggh, I must write SO badly!
My chin is as up as it can be, right above my eyebrows, it always is, I'm the happiest & luckiest chappie on earth. (Which may or may not be a state of mind, glass half full/empty sorta thing).
Roller-coaster is true though, I seem to become embroiled in so many things which are not of my doing, & I often think "why me?" I get advantages & disadvantages from lots & lots of relationships, friendships, alliances, da de da. And sometimes I think, "count me out of both, please, I'm perfectly fine in my own little world, & I don't want to become mixed up in stuff which is not my responsibility", when someone else has got way out of line & somehow there becomes a transfer of guilt, & it becomes my problem. I don't like that, & why should I? I pay my bills in life fully, but because others don't, how & why does it become my problem? I'll forfeit the pros if I can also forfeit the cons, in short. I don't need anyone or anything to add pleasure to my life, I'm happy to be a hermit if needs be, & just limit my friendships to a very few. Don't get me wrong, blonde, Sky, APAT, etc, all bring me a mixture of pleasure & pain, friends & enemies, cost & reward, that's all fine, & I don't want to change that really. But 3 days ago, someone laid something at my door, & it's just horrible, & I'll end up causing offence to someone I respect enormously so I can sort out a problem of someone else's making. Which has nothing to do with me, but seems to occur with great frequency.
Anyway, because there seems to be some confusion, my chin is as high as high can be, life has never been better, (though I wish I was not so bloody old) I'm as happy as Larry, (who is this Larry?), I love my job, I'm still healthy, I can do what I want when I want, I am OK for money, & I'm OK for friends, I need for nothing. I look forward to every single day, but for different reasons, the variety in my life is spectacular.
I am as happy as I've ever been, everything is good, it really is. The Dither Tray is full to overflowing though, thats all.

ok cool was just concerned. there seems to be so much going on just on here atm (rivered thing some one having a troll at you etc) that you have to deal with and this is only a small %age of your life. i thought i had been having a laugh on here with some folks but it turns out it is easily taken as trolling and i was totally unaware that this is a banning offence (my thought was i like being a troll). i since found out that the moderators on here are all guys who i respect and have a lot of time for so have been thinking more about my posts incase they cause offence. just my way of lightening the work load. x
