Good work, getting vegas sorted. What option(s) did you decide on last night?
1 & 3.

didn't floppy say something the other day about people accredited as media not being able to play any events? So you'd have to be one or tother? Don't quote me on that but worth looking into before a serious dither
I don't recall seeing that Jeff, but given the new super-strict Media rules, that would make absolute sense.
I missed, due to a diary clash, the WSOP Media Advisory Conference Call on Wednesday, I could have asked then, I guess.
I did discuss the actual new Media Rules with Seth Palansky a month or so back, & we get along extremely well, so I thought I may get a little licence from him, but he took a very hard line on the whole thing, & he was front foot, not back foot.
I'll be playing a good bit at Ceasars, Binions, & maybe The Venetian in the preceding 2 weeks anyway, so no complaints really.

Good luck to Thewy today - can I say "Sky Poker's Thewy"? - in the EPT Tournament of Champions.
I believe there will be a live stream, with commentary by.......Sky Poker's James Hartigan. I'm sure he won't single Thewy out for special mention.

1) Decent playing cards.....one's that "snap" nicely when you flick the corners up to peek.
2) Good quality chips, clay, rifflleable, & plenty of them.
3) Fun table company.
4) Well-organised, good dealers, & run punctually with a good TD.
5) Good, fair, structure.
That's all it takes for me to enjoy Live Poker, the result, & whether I get any "hands" is irrelevant, I just enjoy the occasion.
All those criteria were met, & more - they even had massage girls - when I played at £300 at Fox Club last week. Has to be said, I thought Fox Club ran the comp supremely well, & I'll definitely be returning as & when time permits.
I had Barny Boatman next to me, & we nattered about all sorts, especially the problems at THM recently, followed by the Full-Tilt probs. We could not agree who had come out of the DoJ debacle worst, FT or 'Stars, (I thought the latter had) but I hope The Mob don't sufffer at all, they have been excellent for the promotion of the game for the better part of 10 years now.
Also present was Joe Beevers, we had a good chat, Carlo Citrone, that JJ fella (who has never been anything but pleasant & civil to me, but for some reason, he grates on me a little), &, I think, Anthony Holden, though if it was not him, he was grumpy enough to be.
Quite a few ex DTD staff there, too.
Anyone who has been around for 8 or 10 years will remember the early THM promo photos (they were with Prima then - whatever happened to Prima?) & they always seem to me to be rather like, in style, & "mood" (always dark suits etc) the much later Full-Tilt Pros promo photos.

The Fox Club affair was 15k chips, & I just sat out & watched the chip chucking for the first 2 levels, so much so that I was getting a modicum of mock abuse, "you can play a hand if you want, tikay" sort of thing.
But I had nothing playable, end of, & I major in patience, I just sat there & lapped up the table convo.
Eventually, on a Table absolutely brimming with mega-loose stations, I make it 2.5BB UTG, & the whole table snap-mucked, many of them out of turn, so eager were they to fold, plus a few on other Tables, too, so I could not resist showing the
Level 4 arrives, & I'm still sat there on 14,500, UTG Tight player makes it 3xBB, 5 callers, I call in the BB with 5-5. It comes A-3-4, checked around, happy days, I get a free card, & bink the miracle turn. I lead out, small, UTG man pops it, I call, & lead again on the blank turn, he snap shoves on me to set me in. I call, "you got the straight?" he asks. Err, yes. 32,000.
Next hand, A-K in bad position, so I just make-up, the BB raises, 2 others call, now I raise it up & get 2 callers, we see the K high flop, I check, scandie-type eventually raises it up, I go over the top of him, & after a monsta dwell, he mucks, & shows, top 2 pair......wow, image is a wonderful thing.
A set of 10's were next, & soon I'm on 45k, & have no idea how to play this stack.
But karma did it's thing, my Kings got busted by 8-9, & my Aces by a chompyesque 9-3, & soon I was back down amongst the also rans & micro shove stacks.
I went "on the tear", freely shoving my 10x stack, no reply, soon I had 18x.
A raise in early pos, I have
on the Button, in we go, now the BB rejams, the original raiser declines, & we are off to the races, my man has 9-9, & I fail to improve.
An absolutely splendid evening, & I had no regrets about a single moment, or play, & went home happy. I had gone by train, so a trip on the Piccadilly Line was a bonus.

My next Live Poker was the Friday night eve-of-SPT £50-er at Grosvenor Leeds, & had a terrific evening, with excellent table compny throughout, LML to my right, Thewy to my left.
I was rather pleased to bust a serial-raising friend, "hursty", who had been way too busy on my BB, so I took him on with Q-2 suited & got there, how could he possibly have had K-K there, poor lad!
I soon had Thewy under control, too, despite being oop to him, & we both finalled with similar stacks, him with 70,000, & me with 8,800, but not a problem, I have him where I wanted him.
I doubled up twice, early, but then the idiot Thewy called my admittedly transparent button jam (
) with
of all things. How can he call me there, I have to have it?
(My thanks to Machka for the photo).
So that was that, £55 gone, but what value, I had an immensely enjoyable evening.

Ugh, I've tried to resist latte all morning, but I am so weak, I need to go find a Starbucks.
More incredible poker action from my crash-bang tables soon.
PS - I'm on holiday today, please note. Proper holiday, like NO WORK.*
* I did do a "Good Luck Sky Poker's Thewy" tweet earlier, but that's not really work.

Why don't you go and find a driving range and get a little practice in?

You so know me, Ralph - I plan to do EXACTLY that.
Stand well clear, please, the ball could go anywhere. Or nowhere.

Yeah. And get off facebook! Thought you weren't keen on that place.
