Don't understand Pleno's analogy. Poshboy's posters aren't a clique. They're mates. And as for this "90% blondes don't know...." Just a tease!
Got to agree with G2L here.
communities are all, in general, made up of a number of sub-communities (cliques?)
I also think I must be one of the 90% who don't know what happened about a bloke at the end of last year. Can one of the 10%ers pm me please?
I don't know, either, Del, but I don't want to really, my hands are full enough already! If it's not on the Forum, though, I'd venture to suggest there is as reason for that, maybre it's a private, delicate, or embarrassing matter, I don't know. We have no automatic right to know, though, or even ask.

I think people very much see things that arent there.
For example, Im sure people probably think I am a member of one of the cliques. I dont see it that way. There are people I knew before Blonde (shrewdies et al), there are people who I have met because of Blonde who I now consider friends, and naturally I would post on their threads or comments, but at no point do I believe it ever becomes "exclusive", which for me is when you could define something a clique.
I think where some people feel left out and shout "clique" is when there is an "in joke" which is touched on but never fully explained (and I guess that is kinda cliquey), but im 100% certain if the person asked the question they would get a response. Juuuunnnnnnnneeeeeeeeee **** **** **** **88 ! I have no idea where these 2 things originate from, but I half know what they mean (through context and eductaed guessing). It doesnt make me feel left out when people use them.
I didnt read Tikays or Red Dogs diary for 2+ years of being a member here - i didnt know them, when I popped in it was always "trains" or " educated worldly stuff" (
), so why would I read about that from them? Then someone starts posting about buildings and concrete and we are away!
For me the forum is what you make it. All you need to do is look around and that different people take different things.
Right that has killed15 minutes and Im still wide awake (sigh), wonder if there is an concrete/buildings chat...............

I'm done for the day, it's been a right grind today, one way & another, & I failed to "maintain" the Diary for ther first time in weeks. Bugger.
Bit too much aggro on my plate today, business & private, but tomorrow will be better. It always is.
I do the house move on Saturday, & sorting everything out internet, phone, Sky TV etc, has been a mare. I've got Shows today & Sunday, too, & gotta go back home (other home, I'm two home Tony now, ooooh) on Friday.
The rent on the London place is payable a month in arrears, (we are very good friends), but I paid three months up front today, which has no financial logic whatsoever, but it makes me feel better to know everything is clean & paid for, & I'm not a fan of credit.
I'm going on holiday next week, too, to escape Xmas, & I'm looking forward to that immensely.
Done some staking today, a couple of opportunities came up, so that's good, I get most of my "big money" poker interest vicariously these days. It's more cost-effective, too......
I thought Mr Keys "auction" was interesting, but I'm still not sure the best way to approach it tactically. I asked one blonde - pro player - for advice, & he did me right, then another blonde "legend" wrote to me, & we sort of worked a few things out together.

I think I love you.
In fact, the suggestion you make that you my be perceived to be part of a clique is interesting. It's clear for all to see that you & Cos are friends, you are on his Diary a lot, but I fail to see whats wrong with that, to be honest. I have never opened your Online staking thread, that I recall, I don't know why, to be honest, but Im think it would be foolish to read anything into that, it's just how it is, we can't all read, & Post, on every thread. Are you bothered? I don't think so.....
I hope the whole debate dies down now, & moves on. To me it's negative energy, & I'm bursting with positive stuff I want to write about, & do. So many incredible things happen to me, I but I just run out of time to Diary them.

As I think I mentioned, it's not been the best of days, mostly "work" issues, but I was quite pleased with myself, I hung in real good, though I am inundated with tasks I've yet to sort, some of them very important, & time precious, but I got diverted these last few days, & I've not been in top-notch health either.
So, having somehow got through a bad day, I sat down quietly tonight, opened up 3 Omaha Tables (2 @ 25p-50p, 1 @ 10p-20p, so just small beer), to settle down for a relaxing & peaceful evening. During which, as it happened, I managed to burn over £100 for my 2nd straiught losing night.
Anyway, some kid is trash talking non-stop on all three of my Tables, berating everyone left right & centre, & when he won a hand, it was all "haha you donk" nonsense, as you'd expect from someone aged 5. What is it with all this aggro stuff, over a 2 bit game for a few quid?
And I'm watching all this go off, soon the others are dragged into it, & everyone is squabbling. Lovely.
I'm about to quit for the night, I don't need all this adolescent crap, when a complete stranger comes onto the Rail & says "tikay, I've sent you a message", & then plum disappears.
I go check my messages, & there it was, it was THE most lovely note about the recent "Docu" Sky did about my life.
Life's not so bad when you weigh it all up, it's amazing how every action has a reaction.
Life is good.

Forum thread title next door, today.
is tikays misleadin dribble gd for the game and gd 4 skypoker?
Lololol welcome to my world.
There is a growing trend to chastise people who offer opinions about poker, like the criticism of Vicky Coren in a thread I read the other day. Fwiw I'd say sky-poker seems like a sustainable business model with an ethical approach in a market where those two attributes are in short supply. So I'd say everyone connected with the company should be proud of their contribution to the growth of poker, particularly for and behalf of amateur players. (The suits shouldn't be proud to pull threads thou, fckin hate that nonsense).
However, two questions for further debate alongside clique debate
1. Why are good players so worried about the information other players, namely their oppos, receive? What's more why do these good players think new players learning the game will follow advice from one person like a sheep and not use their brains to filter what they agree with from a variety of learning resources? Seems like this good for the game lark is just to excuse having a pop at someone and shows a real lack of respect for people's ability to learn.
2. Vicky Coren was accused of being too confident about her own opinions. Why do these good players expect amateur players to have a wishy washy attitude when they put their poker hats on? Good players are confident and decisive so even if you have the "wrong" opinion why criticise the right mentality? Don't see how a confident woman at the poker table is bad for the game myself.
I need to get to bed, but that's a VERY interesting Post, & I need to reply, & correct a part of it, but can't do it justice tonight, so I won't try. The whole thing of abusing anyone who has a different opinion is really quite sad, but I'll leave it at that for now.

I have had a thread (cant really call it a diary) since 2008, the reason for doing so was I had a lot of support and kind comments during my time in the Philippines 2006/08 and thought it would be nice for my blonde friends to continue to follow my adventure on my return to the UK.
Whilst it is always nice to read peoples comments what gives me most pleasure is the amount of views I have received as it shows people are interested/care enough to read it. I also have found it to be therapeutic at times.
In my time here I have often stated that the atmosphere has reached low points but then very quickly it seems to rise again and this is pretty much like life in general.
Just my opinion.....
Thanks Big Man.
The "atmo" thing you refer to absolutely fascinates me, & you are spot on. A forum is like a garden, it needs attention, it needs tlc, it needs work doing. Some just relax in it, others work keep it nice & bright.
The mood here has been very low at times, very high at other times, & over the last few months, it's enjoyed quite a solid uplift. Tighty has worked hard to sustain that - hence the Advent thing.
Let me ask you a rhetorical question - would you in any way be offhand to "leethefish" if he Posted on your Diary?
Of course you would not. But he never has, afaik.
Put yourself about Lee, there are peeps here who would love to interact with you, or anyone else that makes the effort. Trust me, there are, lots & lots of them. We can make cliques by excluding ourselves, too!
Simple answer is NO, when we start any thread here we are putting it into the public domain, we come from all different walks of life and therefore we all have different opinions, even Bolt posted on my thread

I have been exposed to websites and situations IRL where I have found it hard or tedious to "get in" ~ choices seemed to be to try a bit harder or to accept that it isn't going to be for you and move on (and I have done both at different times, depending on how badly I wanted in.)
I post some inane crap from time to time, but not once have I felt any expectation or obligation to post in certain areas. I post where I want, when I want, in response to things that I have interest in (I would ofc not post on someone's diary if they explicitly asked me not to)
I always took it then, that the forum would be the sum of all the individuals doing the same thing; posting where they like, goading who they like, supporting who they like.
I hope I haven't caused a social faux-pas or broken internet protocol along the way, but I don't really see the point in making an issue out of "diversity and inclusion" on an open forum.

How cool is this?
Note the enclosed bell on the front bumper. No sirens then, & the bell sounded awesome.

Tony, your first reply to the points that Lee raised was beautifully constructed, and worded.
Said everything I would have wanted to say on the subject, only in a much better way.
Interested that you made a NYR regarding your posts on the forum - because I think your style, and interactions with others, has changed a little this year.
Take your approach to Cos, Jason etc....
I think you have been far keener to build bridges, and to see the best in people.

I didn't want to comment on the auction thread, as I thought that it would be unfair to say anything within that text, that may influence peoples bids etc...
But it's clear that James has cleverly led people away from the 'am I getting value' stance, and created a competitive arena, where winning appears more important, than getting a good price.
Fair play to him (although it has been suggested that the slimmer Mr Johnson may deserve at least some of the credit).
I generally think players over-rate themselves, or at the very least take most or their edge in mark-up, leaving little, or no, value for investors.
As the auction strategy appears to be able to inflate prices, it would make me even less likely to get involved with investing.

Thank you Neil.
And yes, I set out to try to be a better person this year, & build bridges, deliberately. And I've never had so much fun doing anything. Life's too short - especially at my age. I jest not. And sorry to labour the point, but if you spend as much time as I do talking to, listening to, reading stuff by, & observing, Tom, then you can't fail to pick up better "life habits". It is SO important to look at ourselves in the mirror, & find fault in ourselves, rather than others.
Not much tilts me here on blonde, it's an irrelevant thing in the greater scheme of things, & my life, but I do get cross when I see such un-necessary agro. I suppose that's an age thing. At 20, we all thought we knew everything,& I suppose we went round dissing everyone, "gtfo", but at 60+, we realise we know nothing.
OK, you've made my day now, so I'm going to bed.
I think I love you, but please don't tell that Guy fella.
