The Mystery Motorbike.
Thanks for the replies, Gents.
I've always been a motorbike fan, had loads of them as a youngster, & still keep a watching brief on bikes. The modern ones are wonderful as to power, & comfort, compared to the old British ones in the 50's & 60's, but they all look much of a muchness to me, which is why the rare oddity hits me between the eyes. That bike was parked among hundreds, & I spotted it a mile off. Welll, 100 yards.
I've been toying with the idea of getting one recently, a yearning which returned after I retired, & was awakened whilst in Scotland last year. Now I am (for the time being) living in London, it would help with ease of travel, too. Am looking at one of those BMW cruiser-types.
These things below - 2 wheels at the front - were ten-a-penny in Monte Carlo, though I'm not sure what the logic of the additional wheel is.

Tom.
Can we pretend it is a
Ferrari
Silent Run compressor? That be like a Ferrari fridge. Really cool.

The
Casino Monte Carlo
is a quite magnificently understated but ostentatious little building, very different to the interior, which is just ostentatious.
This is the western end, unused as an entrance these days.

The rear of the building, rarely seen by tourists, & usually used to park those giant lorries used as Mobile TV Edit Suites.
But just look at the detail on that building.

....and then, above those arched windows, & below the "porthole" windows, these lovely mosiac inlays. Which nobody ever looks at.

The front of the most famous Casino in the world is as grand as you'd expect, but sadly marred last week by all the chain-link fencing temporarily erected as spectator barriers for this weekend's Grand Prix.

Likewise the
Cafe de Paris
, equally disfigured by all that temporary but hideous chain-link fencing.
It's a really lovely eatery, I always sit outside, it's just the most wonderful experience to sit there for a few hours & observe how the other half live.

...the sort of semi-covered area, the waiters looking so refined & smart in their crisp white aprons, white shirts, & black ties. Not quite TGI Friday style, mercifully.

Convinced by Frankel yet or do you still think he's all hype?

Convinced.
But I'd never have backed him at those odds. Happy just to watch something special.

Oh me too, never had a penny on him in his entire career to date but he sure delivers every time.

Here dine those so rich they can afford to pay a £12 million divorce settlement, with a further £600,000 per year for SEVEN years on top. That's serious money.
