I did my third year dissertation on violence and disorder in women's prisons. I'll spare you about 11,990 words: women's prisons are much worse than men's.

Yup, seen the Show. It was a sort of Australian RADA, the acting was incred, all the Crossroads actors & actresses were trained by that.

There must be some form of Squirrel Patrol: a council-run outfit whose sole responsibility is finding grey squirrels and painting them red.
Come March/April and then again in June/July, they are especially busy, as this is when between 3 and 9 kittens are born per litter. The gestation period is between 40 and 45 days, I understand and the females do all the work after mating. Chappie has had enough after that.
Sciurus carolinensis

That'll be you, MereNovice ('Vice to his friends) & Jen Mason then.
Any other Latin geeks out there?
I think MereNovice may be the only blonde with a Latin signature, too.
Bibo ergo sum.
Think that means "I do numbers, therefore I am a geek".
I'll have you know that I have "O" Level Latin amongst my educational achievements.
Not sure if that makes me a geek.

Saw some absolutely HUGE Cruise Liners docked in Southampton, these beasts are bigger than you can ever begin to imagine.

On the return ferry, in the evening, struck lucky, as two of them were setting sail, presumably they need high tide so to do

Their exotic location? New York? Nassau? Florida? The Caribbean? St Petersburg? Round the World, perhaps?
Not quite.
Grand Princess was bound for Malaga…..

Whilst Independence of the Sea, once the world’s largest Cruise Liner, & still the 3rd largest, was headed for Gibraltar of all places. What?
Plenners will be there to meet it, & take photos, no doubt.

Fairly sure I saw that exact same cruisey thing in Malta two weeks ago!

It was very good thanks.
Sicilian & Pizzled came over for a few days, and we took part in some poker. The highlight of which, was Sir donks trying to slowroll me when I shoved over his obviously weak raise. After a minute or two he decides to call and turns over his Aces. The dealer, who has now almost fallen asleep whilst waiting for Dean to make his decision, asks me what happened. I don't know why, but I accidently told the dealer that Dean had folded. The dealer than gathers all the cards and dean jumps out his chair, but it's too late, the dead hands are in there too. The TD is called, and Dean begs me to shuffle the deck and run the flop with all the dead hands etc. Well, as much as I would love to, as he is a good friend etc, it's just against the rules right? The TD awarded a split pot, which I wasn't really happy with, but, like I said, Dean is a friend, so wouldn't want to upset him...
The rest of the holiday was great. Time with the burd, and the odd visit to see my dad, who was there also.
See you at Luton soon.

Ooh another one of my qualifications which was known as "English Language" as opposed to "English Literature" which was the other English exam back in those good old days.
Are you sure you've not been looking up my academic record as I only attained the heady number of three "O" Levels and you've now determined two of them, the third was French just in case you're dying to know.

You are misinformed. The youth of today still have to endure English Literature.

I believe that was a Modern Language class when Ralph was at school.

The buoys have peculiar names, too. Is there a naming protocol?
This one caught my eye – Calshot Spit”.
Then, quite unconnected, this apparent Castle, or Fortress, at the entrance to Southampton Water, came into view, & aroused my childish curiosity. I originally assumed this was a sort of land-based Martello Tower, of which there are many in the Solent.
Google & Mr Wiki came to the rescue in an amazing way – that IS Calshot Castle, at the head of Calshot Spit, after which the buoy is named.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calshot_Spit
Incidentally, the photos of Calshot Castle are mine, taken from the moving up & downy Ferry at least a mile distant. The wonders of a cheap, modern camera.
Next time you're in Southampton and have some spare time, do you ever have that?, feel free to give me a call and stop by for a cuppa.
I visited Calshot Castle with Leo a while ago, can't say I really knew it was there until we walked past it while on a trip to the seaside "exploring".
This is the gun seen at the top of your photo.

It's open most of the year I think.

That top photo shows the exact location where Leo caught his first fish in the photo I posted a while back.
The bottom photo shows all the pontoons being set up ready for the Southampton Boat Show which isn't until the 14th September, they like to get started early in Southampton.

Just read a blog by Karl Mahrenholz which mentions you tikay. I think it's in a complimentary manner...
http://www.pokerencore.com/blogs/2012/08/turning-30-as-a-professional-poker-player/
By the way, the £7,700 Karl mentions winning at the Stoke Genting Poker Series isn't all going on his garden. I won a competition to have a 5% stake in Karl so I was well chuffed when he went so deep!
