Dens Park, Dundee? Looks much the same now, was there a few days ago, walked past to Dundee Utd's ground a couple of hundred yards down and across the road.
The first Tram pic you just posted it the Hielanman's Umbrella from the other side.
That is the two Stadiums, or Grounds?
Good grief. How did that ever make sense?!
God knows - football rivalries don't sometimes. Think the roots might be similar to the Celtic/Rangers thing - with Dundee Utd originating as Dundee Harp, then Hibernian started by Irish immigrants. Although the histories claim that not be the case.
Anyway here's the pic of the same corner from Google Maps:

One of those photos reminds me "Burtons" always had the prime corner high street properties. I remember the one on Eltham High Street from my youth, it had a snooker hall above.

Someone might have answered already but Luton Town used to be nicknamed the Straw-Plaiters, a more specific reference to the hats that made the town famous.

Dens Park
Anyone care to guess why the main stand is a shallow V shape and not straight?

I believe tikay's image is taken from the bottom left corner of this picture

Lol, the revenge of Tighty.
No idea, I can't think of a single legitimate reason.
It appears to follow the curvature of the road, is that the right area?

Tannadice was the first venue in Dundee to stage greyhound racing when it came to the city in 1928. Meetings were held regularly on Saturdays and Wednesdays during the summer. Despite reasonable crowds the layout of the venue was not particularly suited to racing and in later years Dens Park would become Dundee's regular greyhound venue
The area, enlarged, between pitch and main stand was required for home straight and bookmakers pitches....

They do, though up there they're classed as health food shops.
