Are you watching Africa/Attenborough tikay?
What about Polar Bear and Me?
Iplayer is your friend
the Polar Bear family and me programme, 3 of them, is quite extraordinary. Fantastic camerawork, brilliant story.
I am watching ALL of them Rich, every single one.
Xmas was wonderful, wall-to-wall Attenborough, & that Galagapos Series raised the barrier yet again.
In the last week I've watched Giraffes fighting, Rhinos being moved to Africa for breeding purposes (spoilt only by the condescending Stephen Fry commentary), Galapagos, which was stunning, two crocodies fighting & one having his entire upper jaw bitten off by the other, but surviving, & a Hippo messing around with a crocodile. Hippos are veggies, & don't go round eating crocodiles, & he was just sort of messing around with the croc, but the Croc was crapping himself.
I've not seen the Polar Bear stuff yet, but don't worry, I will.
There was a Show on over Xmas called, I think, "Bear Woman", about a mad lady in the USA who claimed to be trying to help the Brown Bears there. She was a bit of a fruitcake really, but the bear footage was excellent.
"Life of Birds" is on again on Eden now, & "Life of Insects" preceded it.
Despite all the CBB/formulaic Auction & Cookery shows on TV, this truly is the golden age of Wildlife & Nature TV.
We are blessed to be able to watch this stuff.
OK, gotta go, Jeremy Kyle is on shortly.

Tikay watching train programmes made me think of this
Trust you to find that Mr C.......
Tonight, instead of Orford, I have to spend 5 hours with this chap. How bad do I run?

I'll never forget watching the WSOP Main Event coverage when Montel Williams was chip leader. Was that the year Hachem won? Anyone?

I watched about 10 mins of that Africa programme. Baby elephant was dying, mum decided to stay with it til it died. It made me think, why don't they feed it rather than film it?

You want to volunteer to walk up to a dying baby elephant being guarded by its irate mum?
I think between the level of danger and the issues of preserving the sanctity of the program, they tend to stay away from any involvement.
