Ignore the teeny bit of spammage, here's the Day One blog from Vegas.......

"...an excelctic range of topics ..."

eclectic?  - just guessing.

Blame Jeeves - he writes that stuff.

We did our money yesterday

Is there a way you can set this sentence as a shortcut, to save lots of typing over the next few weeks.

There's your Day Two Investors Update, good read Andrew.

We did (done?) no good yesterday.

It was the Binions $200, a totally different comp to the $600 @ Palazzo on Day One, sort of a Yarmouth Seller compared to a Group Two at AScot.

We started with 20,000, & the cards were much kinder today, & it made me realise that Day One @ Palazzo, which had depressed me slightly as I never got in the game, was not as bad as I had feared, truth was we just had no material really, whereas we had plenty of action in this one.

We began with 20,000 chips & a gorgeous Table, probably the first time I can recall being able to actually boss a table, & we soon had over 40,000.

There was a sort of female Albert Sapiano at the Table, played EVERY hand, called every bet, & I shot myself in the foot taking her on when the blinds were pretty big & around 50 of the original 145 remained.

We had a beautiful combo hand, raised it pre, she called, we picked up both nut draws on the flop, I bet & she called, no improvement on the turn, I shove, she calls all-in, on their backs.

She shrieks "I KNEW YOU WERE BETTING WITH NOTHING", & I resisted the urge to say ""correct M'aam, & you were calling with nothing". Actually, she DID have a diamond draw. We just needed her to miss, (she had no low draw), or for us to hit any A, low card or spade. It came a high diamond, & we were back to starting stack with Blinds 1,000-2,000 now.

I then dusted off half of it with A-A-2-J (all black) when the flop came all high hearts, friendly geezer, deep-stacked says before I could act on the flop "don't be trying any fancy stuff Mr English", & I closed down, & he showed me the flopped nuts with A-K hearts.

We then found A-A-2-K Double Suited, with a raiser in front of me, I get it in, he tanks for a bit then calls with 9-10-Q-Q, the 9-10-2 flop was bad, the turned 7 gave me hope, but we blnked the river & went home empty-handed.

No complaints at all, think I played as well as I'm able, we just needed to win those crucial bggies, but we could not do a get or a hold.

Today it is the $230 @ Golden Nugget, noon start. I have to do a phone-in to the Show before it starts, & I need to get Downtown before that, so no Blog yet today, ran out of time, will try & do it later after I bust @ Golden Nugget.

After I bust, I went across to The Rio to get some photos (for the Blog, later) but I managed this all action photo of Scotty77.

Why can't they stay still whilst I take photos?

Having a ball though, & de-stressing nicely.

Before yesterday's Binions Tourney, I sat outside at the Starbucks & lived the dream.

THIS is Vegas baby.

Love that little Starbucks, although the one on the other side of the casino is usually quieter.

Never knew there was another. How do I find that?

I think you go out of the Rush Tower entrance near to the cardroom, walk about 50/100 yards up the road and the other Starbucks is just inside the door on the left*

*May or may not be correct

I know how to get there from the inside, but it is a fair distance from the Grand and above is the quick route if I'm right Smiley

Stop doing that tony you know I adore The Golden Nugget and Downtown.

Why did you have to gag and blindfold that bloke before you took his picture?

Never mind these penny-ante warm-up events save the run-good for the biggie.
