Blinds now 2,000-4,000, and I am down to 40,000, so 10 of those Big Things.
Plan B is imminent.

Will try and reply to all the lovely messages tomorrow.
For now, hot bath, an hour with my book (am reading the superb "Dark Pools" which is about computerised stock trading) and bed.
Am pretty shattered after a wonderful 4 days, during which I have sat at PLO8 tables at three different venues for a total of 46 hours, did a 7 way chop in one for $1,700 ish, finished 2nd in another for $2,125, and now somehow nicked $5,600+ in this WSOP thing.
Think that is called a heater. Gotta love variance, and poker. Always.
Am so pleased for my investors, too. The core team have now made a healthy profit, as we did last year, even if we blank everything from here. Also the additional investors who came in board for this, Thewy, Doobs, Ryan, Dyl (additional).
The only disappointment is that Matt Russell jumped on board. Quality Bum Hunter him.
Night all.
PS - greatest fun ever ever ever.

I'm glad you listened to the advice (/wilted in the face of relentless pressure).
I hope you are, too.
Seriously, an incontrovertibly good performance. When's the party?

One of my less arduous tasks.
Have you checked how SkyBet feel about their 14/1 for you to cash in the Main Event?

Difficult position for SkyBet, because live poker is rigged.

Wp & good piece of writing before.
It sounds like you take poker quite personally and worry what people think of you. Did you know this is a common mental characteristic of people who stutter? Sure I've told you that before.
In the mechanics of the game players get tagged in the style they're playing in by other players. So if you play tight you could be branded a nit. But that's just an objective term to identify with a style, whereas you take it and dive through levels worrying about what people think of YOU and your character. So it becomes not just your current playing style but how you identify with yourself. Yet ultimately you are there to win a game, not impress people.
Most of us feel self-conscious at times but try hard to battle that mentality by putting on a game face, like when a boxer enters the ring, eye of the tiger stuff. Still having fun on the outside but a steely determination on the inside to bust everyone even if you know you're outclassed. The reason to aspire to such a mentality is cos confidence, heart, belief are such big parts of the game. Everyone pays the same to enter so let's try and match better players with equal belief imo. What's the worst that could happen?
As this comp went on, you settled down and lost those self conscious feelings and started to really enjoy it/feel at home. Why not try and cultivate those positive emotions from the start? The reason I asked originally is cos you seem to almost enjoy feeling out of your depth, like people who go on rollercoasters to scare themselves to death in the name of fun. I wonder if it really helps in the latter stages because if we build a ceiling of where we belong or what we deserve how do we reach for the stars?

Doesn't this cash make you the 'all of vegas PLO8 player of the series', what with all the others that proceeded it?
Well done Teeks, we'll get em next year.
