Thanks Liverpool Fan Bloke, you are in for either or both those PLO jobbies if I play.

How do things now look for Liverpool without Mr Suarez?

The downward spiral to continue, or do you aspire to better things, maybe mid-table mediocrity, or even right up there with Everton?

The only reason I mentioned the high vig. is that surely at some point it will have the effect of diminishing numbers. Well it's not the only reason actually as surely there must be a point at which one decides that it's just too high to play.

Having said that I'm more than happy to be "in" as per usual for any tourney that you decide to play.

How much juice you been paying at Nugget tho' Surely near Rio's Carenevale figures?

Edit:

GN $240 tourney rake is $46 so quite steep but not as high as Rio!

I'm not sure that holds true, Ralph.

In my view, the vast majority would still play, at least, up to a point.

Embarrassingly, I have no idea.

I sort of assumed it would be 15%, or 17.5%, but I genuinely don't know.

I just looked on the festival dubree, & it sort of says "for T & C's, ask in the Cardroom". So I will.

I am a little remiss, & slapdash in such matters, to be honest.

Rodgers is implimenting his tactics and buying the players that he believes can progress the club.We have to have faith in him. I believe that we are not far away from being one of the top four teams in the league.

Would love to come back in November, if there is any O8 stuff scheduled, & do the whole thing again. The existing team of investors would all have first dibs on a bit of the action.

Meanwhile, there is the little matter of the Main Event to start thinking about. To say I am bricking it would be an understatement. $10,000, jeez, that is SO much money.

Pretty sure DSE will be on in Oct/Nov including plethora of Non holdem events

Lol, too late...anyway enjoy the Stud 8/b, I usually end up in seat 1 or 8 in those and its a job. At DtD they keep the discarded up cards face up until action is over on third street but elsewhere they don't seem to. I find it hard to see the folded cards then Sad

Its definitely a different kettle of fish to DC Superstud though.

Ha! Outsmarted myself.

I'm terribly out of touch here, but I thought I had read that he had been transferred to some dreadful place overseas, Italy or somesuch.

Apologies.

I have got the seat thing sorted, I just ask for Seat 4 or 5, & they give it to me!

It is incredible down there, none of this registration card or Passport stuff.

First name?

What seat would you like?

Thats it.

I honestly would not play otherwise, I simply can't see the up cards at the far end of the Table if I am in 1/2/3 or 7/8/9.

Know it bears little resemblance to Super Stud, but I've played some Stud 8 or better in DC games. Nearly 100 hands at a guess. LolPro, me.

Think I actually played a little Stud 8 Tourney at DTD once. May have been sponsored by Nic Szermeta?

A wise old wag told me the best bet was to sit out the first 6 levels, but I'd already busted by then, I think.

Not in cash-games though where a $4 cap on rake is standard.

Well it was a couple of years ago when I last visited.

Downtown

is it busy busy, outside the card-rooms?

In these days of the strip providing all the glitz and glamour and a lot of the top facilities and expansion of the city elsewhere, are the Downtown hotels still busy?

How big is downtown?

(never been there, hence the questions)

Busy? It HEAVES!

I don't know about the Hotels, never stayed Downtown (yet), Marky & Co would know best, but they seem to be full.

But Fremont Street is just amazing, unbelievably so.

As you may know, I don't do crowds & that sort of stuff, if I go up to Leicester Square or whatever, I feel physically uncomfortable, I loathe being in crowds, hustle & bustle, all meandering in different directions, it does my head in, but Fremont Street, especially this year, is the greatest thing ever.

You probably know the "Fremont Street Experience" is actually a Coropration, charged with providing Entertinment & a good Tourist experience. Never have I been more impressed with what they are doing there.

I have, literally, hundreds of random photos from Fremont Street at night, it is THE most exciting thing ever.

During Tourney breaks & I go outside & have a wander, and after I bust, I generally spend an hour or more just gawping at all the sights & sounds.

The evening warmth is bearable, but all the (tourist) ladies wear shorts or summer frocks, & look so pretty.

Along the centre of Fremont Street are little "tat stands", jewellery, Oxygen Bars (!), "engrave your name on a grain of rice", moody jewellery, all that sort of stuff.

There are two "fixed" music stages, one at the far end, one in the centre, by the corner of Binions & Nugget. Each stage has a band or turn every night.

Then there are street entertainers. DOZENS of them. Puppetteers, a lady who crafts bamboo stuff into pretty stuff, a drummer guy who has three upturned empty water bottles (5 gallon jobbies) for drums, a bloke who eats his guitar, a jazz bloke, portrait painters, all sorts.

Then, wandering around are all these lookalikes. A NFL player, "17, Jackson", Rocky (boxer bloke from a film), Cupid, the Star Wars characters, Disney characters, Marilyn Monroe, cowboys, the Chippendales, scores of them, everywhere.

They have two young ladies with monster boobs, which are supported on a sort of cantilever device, must be mega strong, & they just have a little star on each of their nipply wipplys.

They also have a "zipwire" thing that goes half the length of Fremont Street. you get strapped in a harness, dangling from a wire, & get catpulted 200 yards in mid-air in this contraption. **** that.

Then there is the "Light Show", where live & moving images of one of the bands, or turns, is somehow beamed onto the Fremont Sreet glass roof.

The whole place is astonishing.

There are, of course, a few low lifes & hobos hanging around, "give me a cigarette", but no big deal really, & there are loads of police on patrol. I could upload scores of photos, but you'd all yawn.

Next doors cameraman is arriving midweek, & I start work then, but I'm taking him to Fremont Street to try & capture the magic.
