Wow, "philthepower" itt!

We shared a NLH cash table last weekend, & he tried to take me on with 6-4.

He missed completely, & I bet him off. With 6-4.

I pounded that table.

Yes you schooled me, I have to admit. I also can't deny that you "pounded that table", if that means liberally dispersing your pounds to all corners of the table.

Guilty as charged. By your interpretation, I later pounded the Omaha table, too. I am rank. Official.

Anyway, I am honoured by your presence on this Diary, never realised you were a reader. Red-Dog has a diary, too, but it is all kettles, cups of tea, and small boys in sacks. Best avoided.

Warning heeded, I shall avoid it and stick to the sexy diary of motorway service stations, commercial aeroplanes and concrete.

Which online tables are you pounding tonight? Shall I be seeing you in some Omaha 8 on Stars? I'll be on the lookout for flair players from the UK.

Lol at me and flair......

No, just micro stuff next door, nice and relaxing.

Am sorely tempted by some of the upcoming FTOPS/WCOOP PLO8 stuff though.....

This was sent to me by Methuselah, (who is the chap pictured, I believe) via Twitter.

Anyone recognize the very famous location?

It emerged on Fred this morning that Doobsy is on holiday in the Trossachs.

It is a breathtakingly beautiful area, & many moons ago, I was lucky enough to stay at the Trossachs Hotel.

I am officially envious.

Isn't that the cement bridge at St Andrews?

What a truly fabulous lawnmower BTW. What can all those bits be for?

Does it remind you of your old mower that you dumped for a younger model?

Morning Thomas.

I shall NOT be rising to your rather childish bait. The trouble with debating stuff with you is that you never admit you are wrong, which, of course, you invariably are.

That wonderful photo?

Yup, you are correct  -  the very famous Swilcan Bridge at St Andrews. I have rarely seen it spelt correctly, incidentally.

Even has its own Wiki page, not bad for a little stone footbridge on a municipal golf course. .....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swilcan_Bridge

The photo is a great example of how Social Media CAN work, because it was Tweeted (& spelt, incorrectly "Swilken") by Ken Brown, the Golf Commentator & historian who was, back in the day, a very fine golfer. Methuselah "Follows" Ken, (Note capital "F" in "Follows" please), so he saw the photo, then RT'd it so that I could see it. (Because he & I Follow each other).

The mower? It is incredible! So complicated, but I bet that in the right hands, it could still be working just fine to this very day. It would need constant fettling, tlc, talking to, an oily rag, & plenty of affection. Bet it makes a right racket when fired up. Kizzy would go bonkers.

You'd need to talk to it to. "come on old girl, we have grass to cut". (It would be female, trust me, all motorised mowers are female, as are ships & locomotives).

Careful what you say Ralph, that looks very much like a euphemism.

You two really know how to hurt a chap.

There's not a day goes by when I don't regret that moment of madness.

I was looking for a photo of the little stream that the Swilcan Bridge goes over, & found this beauty.

In fact, it emerges that it is a burn. Presumably Scottish for stream, riverlet, drainage ditch or whatever.

Swilcan Burn.

I'll bet a pound to a pinch of pig shit that those sleepers in the retaining wall are the same ones.
