I will play on the condition that you play it as well.

None of my mates from school / college etc have the slightest interest in poker.  Most of them have never played a hand in their lives.  The only friends I have who play poker I met from playing poker so they will probably be there anyway.

Whoa, hold up.

You actually HAVE mates?

Where and when is this SPT main event?  Is it sold out?
I seem to have dropped off the Sky marketing email list.
I have a weekend pass owing, just maybe. . . .

Well Doobs has sorted paying for the holiday Teeks, let us know when you have booked Grin Grin Grin

Spoiler!

I had to get to bed last night, after THE most awful day at work, which ended @ 10pm, & the prospect of another today. (And tomorrow).

So I decided to save the Doobs Winamax thread until last, squeeze it, just as I save the spuds till last with dinner. Always save the best until last.

Anyway.....yeah, what a thing. Tremendous result by Doobs, & lets not forget Ryan, too, who finished 2nd.

Ryan is really progressing with his game, his career, & his life, & I'm so proud of him.

Won a Sat to EPT Barca, cashed for €15,000 or whatever, won a sat for EPT London a few nights ago, & now picks up a useful €68,000 in the Winamax thing.

He's had a testing year, like you will never know, lost a huge lump of his 'roll in unfortunate circumstances earlier this year, & did not have a great Vegas, so this result is, for him, spectacular.

Top bloke. Not so long ago he was roffling around at Luton with the likes of Chompy & Vinni, now he's a proper player.

Thanks very much for this but gotta disagree with the part in bold!

I went to Vegas like everyone with some money and a dream, and had budgeted $20k.  And had already mentally prepared to say bye bye to the money before I even got on the plane.  If I did the lot then it wasn't gonna be the end of the world, yes a bit of a hit, but everything was still in place to come back home and grind it back online!

What I got this year was amazing value for money.  Spent a lot of the time with friends, who I am lucky now to consider friends outside of poker as well.  You, Julian, Dylan, Coxy, Reds, Rann, Dan B from the channel and Lewis are the ones that spring to mind this year; and of course the guys from blonde and the circuit in general who I saw too...Mitch, Alex, Stato, Doobs and plenty more others.

Cash was a small winning proposition and tournies a small losing proposition this year (mainly cos of the $4k I did in main event sats!).  I spent a lot of the cash games at a place called Red Rock.  I'd drive there with Coxy or Lewis.  Sometimes I'd take the scenic route through the mountains which was extraordinary.  It would be a nice friendly 2/5 game and the players and the dealers were so much different to on the strip.  No hoodies.  No headphones.  Great games, great dealers, great cardroom and great people and I reckon I could go there tomorrow and feel at home.

Vegas of course is defined by the tournie binks tho.  I came 22nd in a 2000 runner bracelet event.....win that flip at the end and it all becomes so different....$15k cash becomes maybe $100k+ and a WSOP FT under my belt.  The last WSOP $2k sat too....39th with 37 seats....I manage to get there and who knows what could have happened!  For about 48 hours after these things happen they hurt but now its over you realise these are good memories.

Plus did some work for the channel while railing you in the Main Event too, which was great to see you play THE poker tournament and glad I could keep all your fans on Sky upto date with your progress.

And on top of that I had 5 days in San Diego with Lewis.  Honestly best city I've ever been too and was great to have some time away from poker.

When all the spreadsheets were worked out with flights/hotels etc, 4 weeks in Vegas and 5 days in San Deigo cost me just under £6k (remember I had already mentally lost $20k before I got on the plane!).  Also the kind guys of blonde who staked me for the 8 or 9 WSOP events got a small profit on their stake too which I cannot tell you I was so happy to do.

Can't wait it for all to happen again next year!

Forums are well established font of truth and knowledge.  You can literally believe everything you read.

Evidence of this can be seen below, I believe this is verbatim:

I'm the sickest mofo in any given room.  7 high on the river, I check jam cause I know exactly where I'm at.  He can't call me, he just can't, he knows it.  Just pwning bros left, right and centre.  I'm up about 7k in an hour, ain't no thing, will probably drop that on jagerbombs before I leave and what?

Good man. I was talking pure cash, compared to 2012, but glad to see it is not just the money that makes Vegas so special. I still have that mental image of you binking the Encore (?) Tourney last year, & rushing across to settle me up. Wink

Red Rock Casino is gorgeous, not "Vegas" at all in style & ambience. Had dinner there with Thewy, Lovejoy & Jim McShane & his better half a few years ago, & Jim used to live sort of next door to it. He played most of his day to day Cash there as I recall.

Anyway, glad you are reaping the rewards from your endeavours.

OK, I'd better stop waffling. BIG day today, I have to spend the next 12 hours doing, literally, nothing. IMPORTANT nothing though. Finish at Midnight, rinse repeat tomorrow.

I've also made a right pigs ear of my scheduling next month, & I'm gonna get battered for it. Quite right too.

Cheers for the link - question has been asked, lets hope she feels like a weekend without me under her feet Wink

Anya is great, happy, content and full of vim and vigour, thank you for asking.  She seems to do something every day that appears remarkable to my eyes.  Her personality grows as fast as her teeth, and if she does not shed the cheeky smile when “misbehaving” I am going to be a Dad in a world of trouble in years to come, as it just makes me melt on the spot.
