Pink ribbons? Pink? Mister BangBang, I am disappointed!
Red ribbons, please. Don't let the fact it's pink in colour lead you to believe it isn't red.
I was a pupil with 18 Red Lion court and they looked pink to me even though you're right with the red lol, I eventually realized the error of my ways and left for greener pastures...
What is this coloured ribbon thing, please?
LOVE traditional nonsense!
Legal papers need holding together and a barrister gets the bare essentials from a file. They get bound up by a string that's pink in colour. In the US, it is known as red tape. Hence the expression.
Also dates back centuries, my pupil master once told me that the ribbon symbolizes detachment from the case. One must stay detached from the case regardless of personal feelings towards the crime.

In rugby the ref can't send you off in the bar, but he can send you off on the way back to the dressing rooms after the final whistle as I did once witness.

Indeed. Been doing a bit of research and return to the dressing room is mentioned in the red card section. I think if you abuse a ref in the bar afterwards, he just reports this to the RFU and the take it from there. Will do some more research/ask questions.

Mr T I was always respectful of refs and it was not me it was the opposition hooker who called the ref, the famous Roger Quittenton, a cheat.
However the only time I was ever sort of sent off was whilst playing rugby netball. It also happened to be after the final whistle and I pointed out to the ref that he didn't know the rules. He then sent me off, and I pointed out to him again, correctly, that unlike rugby you can't get sent off in rugby netball after the final whistle.

How do you find these things Rod? Well-named, too, "dorkfiles"!
I never realised how busy Gare de Nord was - busiest in Europe, apparently. I've been there numerous times, but I'm always flustered by time problems, or the pain of getting a taxi, the wait can be up to an hour at times, & I'd never realised what a "grand" station it is. I must walk about with my eyes closed at times.
The one in Mumbai looks almost like the St Pancras frontage, presumably no coincidence.
Good to see St Pancras included, by chance I had a business meeting there on Friday, & afterwards, I had a good wander round. The aura of the place just thrills me, every time I visit it, though I can't say I much like the new modernised bit upstairs, & all the bloody shops. The only shops in a Railway Terminus should be ones selling Railway Books, Model Railways kits, that sort of thing. Oh, & coffee. And sausage rolls.
In fact, I wonder if Grand Central should be #1? Every photo I see of the place, & it also features a lot on TV & stuff, makes me think it might just be the greatest.
I do actually think that the concourse at Leeds Railway Station might be mini-modelled on New York's Grand Central, see.....

Apparently several readers were confused.
Grand Central, New York, was my first photo, Leeds was the 2nd photo.

I'm a bit of a geek Tikay, and have various 'interesting' feeds on facebook.
One station that didn't show in the list was Hamburg, I'm a fan of the Hauptbahnhof there, it's a huge cavernous station with all the platforms on the lower floor, and 2 concourses at either end with shops, and food/drink outlets, I also find it incredibly easy to find correct trains, platforms, times etc despite very little German - it also helps that even when you've booked weeks in advance they tell you time, platform & position on the platform to get straight into your carriage.

Au contraire mon ami, architecture is most definitely an "Art" form.

You really have to find time to get to New York Tikay, I know very few people who have found it failing to live up to their expectations.

Interesting stuff about the Leeds station concourse and it's 'inspiration'.
I can't remember who spotted it originally, but one of the less-subtle bits of plagiarism was pointed out to me whilst at University. Walk out of the old Crowne Plaza hotel (now the Cambridge City Hotel) on Downing Street and look left and you see the entrance to Emmanuel College a couple of hundred yards away.
No prizes for guessing where the architect looked for inspiration.
