Away quickly, veered right after 2 levels straightened up by coffee at halfway, stayed on dourly to just hold on.

Good luck Tikay

It's the squiggle I dread. Though I suppose being gelded is marginally worse.

I lifted the photo Mark, not entirely sure but don'#t think so..  As I picture it in my mind, Mesa Grill was opposite the sportsbook/old poker entrance, whereas the new poker room should be just at the left of the sportsbook as you look at it.  What was there before, I can't remember but was a gift shop or something for one of the shows iirc.

I'm hoping Mesa Grill will still be there, as it is always on my short list of places to eat solo at the bar - Pork Tenderloin that is their signature dish is incred.

I think I know where you mean now, that would make the poker room on the opposite wall to Mesa, and I think it might have been a Pussycat Dolls shop at one time.

Lol @ "think", & trust you to know where a Pussycast Dolls Apparel shop is.

Is that where you got the Nurse's uniform?

Ha! I haven't been in Caesars for years, but played there everyday for about 6 weeks in 2008 and I remember seeing it somewhere when walking to the cardroom every morning to light up my $230 or $340.

I've probably spent too much time around nurses now, and the uniform has lost its appeal Grin

Perusal of your schedule suggests you may as well move to the Nugget for a week.

Looking forward to getting back to early morning squeezage and ripping yarns.

You'd better let Jeeves know if it's not at The Nugget. Wink

So I'm continuing my historic tour of England and my latest stop has been Windsor castle. One of the big attractions of visiting this castle was the fact that Henry VIII was buried there, along with Henry VI and a number of other notable historic royalty. Thus it was with a sense of real excitement that I burst into St George's Chapel last Friday.

I quickly find the marble slab which is situated on the main aisle in the chapel and it states "Here lies Jane Seymour and King Henry VIII". It's nothing special, just a slab on the floor, yet I'm intoxicated by the moment even so. But check it out, everybody is just tramping across the tomb completely oblivious to the fact that one of our greatest ever kings is buried there.

Pretty gutted by this I seek out Henry VI, a major figure in The Wars of the Roses and a pious saintly man, only to find half a dozen trestle tables and a pile of stacking chairs plonked on top of his tomb. Seriously though wtf is this? Where is the mofo reverence here?? I'm thinking about a strongly worded letter to whoever runs that place. Am I being weird? All I could think about was how Elvis' grave is well revered in the USA and by comparison we stack poor quality furniture products on our departed kings. What graves are in fact revered in this country??

On a brighter note there is a stretch of road from Minehead to Bude which is the absolutely best for any vintage car enthusiast, think it's the A39, straight through Exmoor.

Investors Report, $240 PLO8 @ Binions.

An amazing turnout, 192 runners, 30 minute clock & a decent structure. The average stack after 4 Levels was 30 Bigs, but it played nicely.

Really fun table, average age 192, with one Moaning Minnie, but everyone else was great craic. We eventually thawed out Moany Minnie, too.

Danny Newman, a tidy Stud, PLO & PLO8 player who I see here every year on the PLO & PLO8 circuit, was on the table, & the banter was amazingly good. Somehow we got round to Pete Costa doing well in the Seniors, then the sad loss of Uncle Kim. We swapped a hundred Mickey Wernick, Willie Tann, Derek Baxter & Lucy Rokach tales, but not really repeatable. No malicious stuff, just, you know, this & that. Danny used to have a house in Vegas, think Johnny Vac & Luton Pete (?) used to stay there, but he is staying in a hotel this year, so I don't know if he still has it. Poor fella has got shingles & was in obvious discomfort, but playing poker is a great distraction I suppose. He has a THM that stretches back over 20 years.

http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=568

I garnered chips easily & nicely early doors, was playing (relatively) aggro, & my 15,000 starting was soon 25,000. Then I got over-housed on the river & paid the geezer off, I just could not see how he could have the hand. He did.

Everyone was limping every hand pre, but when I raised, they all called. I button raised into SIX limpers with A-K-2-3dd, & they all called. It came J-J-4, kid bet out, we all folded like good children.

Everything was going pretty well though, until a nasty spot arose.

I had A-3-K-Kddcc, & had repotted it pre, & got a lone caller.

It came 2-7-J, three suits, he checked, I bet on the come, I have nut low draw, K-K, & back door diamonds. He calls.

Turn was the 2 of diamonds, adding the NFD to my outs, but on a paired board, he checked again, I bet again, he smoothed. Uh-oh.

River blanked (high card), & he set me in, I could not call with my one pair, (K-K), just as well as he showed quad 2's. Ugh. Can't really regret playing the hand, I had more outs than enough to scoopio, but of course the paired deuces were a red flag, though he's not forced to have one. Or two.

Next hand, in the Blinds, I have a bad king on a K-K-Q flop, I bet, get one caller.

Turn improved me to a bad house (K-K-K-7-7) on a K-K-Q-7 turn, I bet, my man smooths me. River J, I bet, he sets me in, bugger. Geezer was old, & been very tight so far, I could not quite find the minerals to call. He said without a touch of irony "good fold son", & promptly showed me K-A for trip Kings, no boat. Bleurgh. With hindisght, a dumb fold, but I could not see how he could raise me with worse. I was wronggggg.

It was all desperado stuff after that, hanging in with a 12 BB stack.

On the last hand of Level 12, I found a beaut, A-K-2-3, ssdd & potted it, & picked up one caller. I was pot-stuck so had to pot the all club J-6-3 flop, & we got it in. He had flopped the flush, the turn was a high card, & for rubs the river paired the 3, but my 3-3-3 was not good enough, & my low never got there.

So that was that I'm afraid. Am not running so good, it seems to me, + I've made a bad fold or two, but what comes round goes round, & the cards will fall better when they are good & ready.

Best fun I've had so far this trip, though that's not much consolation to stakers.

Well drawn, soon up with the leaders & showing much improved form, faded badly at the 3f pole. Might fare better with a tongue strap & Choc Thornton up top.

Nothing on the schedule tomorrow, (next case is Wednesday), but I may play the Stud 8/PLO8 @ GN. It's Limit, of course, at which I totally suck, which is why I did not include it in the Stakers Schedule.

So if I do play it, it will not be on the Stake.

Going to try once more to get my head round this bloody Limit malarky. I mean, it really can't be THAT difficult, can it? Tips & advice more than welcome.

FML, can't believe I just typed "Stud O8/PLO8 which is Limit of course...."

See, I'm in a flummox already.

Probably be there, though I need to write some articles first, & I've got that "staring at a blank screen" syndrome at the mo. If I can't find some creative juice tonight, I'll have to do it tomorrow instead, & miss the Limiit thing @ GN.
