Good luck today , keep the good form going.

Thanks David.

Am going to swerve today, it was always likely to be today OR tomorrow, & tomorrow kinda works better.

Explanation on way shortly.

Cliffs - am off the back of, maybe, the most wonderful 4 days I can remember in many a year, if not ever, so today is rest up day. I'll try & do some Updates from Events 1 & 2 for my intrepid stakers first.

Then, Heaven forbid, I took hundreds of photos on Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, & I'm going to post a few. Other folks holiday snaps are about as interesting as Stars Hand Histories, or bad beat stories, I know that, but they mean the world to me, so you'll just have to look away.

I'll play @ Golden Nugget tomorrow ($240 PLO8 I think), then Tuesday will be the last day of my non-poker "holiday", & I'll start the poker schedule proper on Wednesday.

What camera do you have these days tikay?

Since I've been away from Blonde for so long the last time you mentioned cameras I'm sure you were thinking of getting a DSLR but I always found a good Compact Super Zoom does everything I need.

Look forward to seeing some photos from you.  I'd definitely prefer to see holiday photos over hand-histories.

Well my photos do have a certain unique style.

I'm currently using a little Kodak PixPro. I had a similar thing previously, & it was fine, but it just sort of seized up, it would not open or anything, so that went in the bin, with all the others. I did toy with the idea of a DSLR, & Anna Fowler offered me some useful advice, but it'd be wasted on me.

Fair to say, there are some things we have to accept we can never do well. In my case, photography, hitting a golf ball cleanly, drawing a picture, are all things I just have to accept I'll never master, no matter what equipment I use. Fortunately, I make up for it with fashion sense, charisma, & generally speaking, the ladies find me hard to resist when I turn on the charm offensive.

When I retire, I'm determined to master a few of my failures - photography, especially wildlife, (I took some amazing photos of dolphins on Thursday) fishing, & golf.

Tone! Great writing.

Praise indeed from Red-Hemingway himself.

I saw a lovely dog in San Diego, it put me very much in mind of that dog you used to talk about a lot before you got Poppy - what was it's name?

I would park in the Bridger Inn car park (budget hotel just before the nugget).  I stayed there for a few days in 2011 and the car park is always empty and never had any problems parking there.  The receptionists never ask for your car details so they wouldn't know if you were staying at the hotel or not.  They have a small car park and you can walk to the nugget in less than a minute (you pass the nugget car park onto the way into the nugget's back entrance).  This is the right side of the nugget for the ballroom where the poker is held.

Fishing, FISHING?

Bagsy me take you fishing when you retire. We'll start by going ledgering for chubb and barbell in the Trent at Kellham, then we'll go live baiting for pike at Foxcovert ponds, and we'll finish by tickling some trout at Otley in God's own country.

Fishing is near the top of my bucket list, Tom. It's the peace & quiet that I find so appealing, I'd happily sit there all day & cogitate.

When we were in Oceanside on Thursday, they had a Municipal Fishing Pier (yes, how cool is that?), & all the old boys were dangling their rods & lines over the end of the pier. I could have stayed & watched all day. It's the hope, isn't it? Like so many things in life, the waiting, the anticipation, the foreplay, is often better than arriving at the destination.

I thought of you on Thursday, too. Won't spoil the story (or photos) yet, but we were in Union Station, Los Angeles, which has a cathedral like waiting room, all very grand, with leather armchairs, stained glass windows, & a very high ceiling. And guess what - it was perfectly quiet - no music, no PA System, no nothing, just peace & quiet. It was a delight to sit quietly for half an hour, "silence" is so rare these days. A wonderful memory.

Anyway, I can't sit here waffling, brekkie awaits at Gold Coast - $7.99, for all you can eat & drink, how good is that? I half remember having Brekkie there with Methuselah many years ago, 2005 I think.

Stakers News

Time has beaten me again, as I had some stuff to sort next door, so the Update for our 2nd Event, the Golden Nugget PLO will have to wait, sorry. At least it pushes back my holiday snaps, which I'm sure you all can't wait to see.

Meanwhile, in 90 minutes time, it's back to GN for more of the same, a $220 or $240 PLO. Am taking AnimalPoker (Rob) down with me, after a brief diversion via The Fashion Mall. Don't ask......

Not a bad way to spend a Monday, though.

Good Luck today.  Remember to wait for those AA double suited with a deuce or a 3 and you'll be fine. Actually nearly joined you today but hate downtown so making my donation to the Planet Hollywood regs again.
Play well mate

Unless you're match fishing then it's not proper fishing in my books (with the exception of sea fishing).

Watching this for 8 hours, what's not to like?

Match fishing means other people, competition, time constraints, pressure...   Ugh!

Oh no, I just mean float fishing by saying match fishing.

Other people, socialising, not things that should be happening during fishing time!

Oh right. I also lurrve float fishing. I first started with a matchstick on a piece of cotton. It's so exciting to try to interpret what's happening under the water by watching the little movements on the float.

Oh my, bad start here, my 15,000 down to 6,000 in Level One after a combi draw failed to any draw.

Then got involved in a biggie, 4 way, and heroed the river all-in, my instincts were correct, so am back to starting stack. Need to go for a lie down now, all-in in Level One, too scary by half.

Am sat next to a very nice lady indeed, think her name is Mrs Knowitall.
