Went to Waterstones in Kingston this morning, to stock up on books for October & November. Spent way too much, ridiculous really.

Never used Amazon or EBay, David, it all seems so complicated.
Then you have to be home when they are delivered, or they leave them next door. Now this is a problem. Next door one side never stops talking, wants to come indoors, handing over a parcel would be a 2 hour gig.
The other side would be worse. Got 2 kids, both obscenely spoilt, and they grizzle (not cry) all bloody day. I'm scared I might speak my mind. Parents who spoil kids should be shot, obv. Oh, and there is a bit of a problem with the dividing fence in the garden. Which, to him, is the most important thing in the world. Me, I cba to even think about it.
Meh, probably ought to try Online, the selections are so much better, and it is do hard to find books in a real bookshop.

Send my best wishes to Gill Tikay. She will love it, though probs won't feel that way half way round.
Amazon very easy to order stuff, once set up, which is just a case of name address and card details, you have have one click shopping.
Do you ever try charity or antiques shops for books? Varied collections at bargain prices

We are all set.
Last minute preparations included consuming a large pack (a pint or a litre or whatever) of beetroot juice. (for sustenance & that "extra zip" apparently).
To take with us, 1 bag of jelly beans & two energy bars. Recommended by Paula Radcliffe, gotta be good.
Anti chafe socks, plimsolls, blister packs, bandages, safety pins for her number plate.

I hope the run went well! I was supposed to be running the Thames Half tomorrow but badly broke my hand. Lots of love to Gill! I develop an affinity to everyone who runs.
