Set myself the target of losing another stone before I break out the bourbon, lost 20lbs so far. Amazon had some bargains last week and couldn't resist so still buying it, just not drinking it Grin

Several people have enquired as to why I m not playing today's $1,000 WSOP PLO, especially after I had such a good run in the $1,500 WSOP PLO last year.

It's an unfortunate clash with the Venetian Big O, & I just feel Big O represents far better value for my abilities.

I bumped into Jeff Kimber & Flushy, both of whom suggested I could play the 11am PLO AND the 5pm Big O.

Bastards.

Am surprised there is a 1k plo and a 1.5k plo.  There was a 500 too.  I think the 1.5k is a better match for my abilities plane ticket

FWIW I always feel a bit uneasy in big O.  Like I must be overplaying hands.  Ofc I then find myself all in vs 345QK and lose.

Surely they can swap out one of those PLOs for an NLO8.  Then I could play the 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm.

I am a fan of Big O too but an even better game IMO is Courchevel hi/lo. I have never seen it offered anywhere in Vegas though.

Going to use the run-good-O meter today.

If I draw seats 4, 5, or 6  = run very good.

Seats 1 or 8 are so so.

Seats 2, 3 and 7 = run like poo.

Poo.

Having said that, it is 8 handed, so not too bad really.

Love 8 handed, that extra bit if room makes such a difference.

Interesting table, it would seem.

Rivered a small boat in an unraised 3 way pot, and potted it, about 300 I think.

Board was A-2-Q-3-2 (I had A-2).

Fella snapped me off with 7-8 for the low and nothing else.

Big pot alert.

We have;

  two hearts

And we see this flop of dreams;

We are 3 way and it kicks off on the flop when geezer bets out.

I am not sure if I should flat or raise here.

Fella behind me, still to act, looks very interested.

I pot it, fella behind dwell folds (he had A-2 and nothing else) and the raiser and I get it all in.

He has A-3 (good) plus the nut heart draw.

A horrible 3 turns to mess things up, then an even worse deuce on the river. ( no hearts).

So I end up with three quarters after having nut nut on the flop. Can't complain I guess, it was a nice pot.

22,000 from 15,000 starting.

Running hot here, 3 way, we turn the nut flush with the nut low draw in reserve, but maybe we play it too fast and we lose both our customers. (It went pot-call-call on the flop).

26,500 from 15,000 starting.

28,000.

2 levels complete, 180 entries so far of which 40 have gone busto already. This is playing lightning fast, people all-in every hand.

29,000 from 15,000.

Blinds now 100-200.

Level 3 complete, blinds now go 150-300.

The cards went cold in level 3, but we just locked up so no damage done.

One chap has played every hand so far and keeps hitting. Would love to find a hand v him.

26,000, and snooze mode engaged for the time being.
