And this is your table, though I fancy it might be the first to break if we apply logic, as your table is the highest number & last one listed;

Fearful of bokking you, I won't list the payouts, or what you are guarantee, instead here's a link to them;

http://www.wsop.com/m/payouts/?aid=2&grid=1622&tid=17448&dayof=7604

The $1,500 Omaha Mix starts at 3pm, with Late Reg for 8 x 1 hour levels.

Hopefully, you won't be able to enter that one.

You should be OK for tomorrow's (Friday) $10,000 PLO8 though - that has Late Reg until the start of Day 2.

Meanwhile, back at base, it's Last Chance Saloon today for my long-suffering investors.

Seat 2. I feel like the trainer of a greyhound who is a seeded wide runner & has been drawn on the rails.

Play begins at 3pm (11pm UK), & continues for 10 Levels on Day One, with Late Reg ending after 8 levels. (Roughly midnight here).

It's 3 different games;

Limit 08

Pot Limit 08

Big O, which is 5 card Pot Limit 08.

So, 2 Pot Limit games & 1 Limit game. 8 hands per game are played, then it rotates. It plays 8 handed, so it changes once per orbit.

I have no idea how a Mixed Game structure is constructed, but it's quite interesting to see the Blind Levels. Bear in mind of course Blinds at Limit & Pot Limit differ.

Starting stack is 12,000.

LIMIT Blinds for the first 8 Levels are;

1 LIMIT 100 200

2 LIMIT 100 200

3 LIMIT 200 300

4 LIMIT 200 300

5 LIMIT 200 400

6 LIMIT 200 400

7 LIMIT 300 500

8 LIMIT 300 600

All of which seems quite normal.

But how about the Pot Limit Levels?

1 POT-LIMIT 100 100

2 POT-LIMIT 100 100

3 POT-LIMIT 100 200

4 POT-LIMIT 100 200

5 POT-LIMIT 100 200

6 POT-LIMIT 100 200

7 POT-LIMIT 200 300

8 POT-LIMIT 200 300

So, from 12,000 chips, it starts at 100-100, which is played for TWO levels, then it goes 100-200 which repeats for FOUR levels. So even Level 6 is just 100-200. At Level 8 it's only 200-300. That's for those still in of course.

I'm not at all sure how that should affect how we play, but if anyone has any advice on that, I'm all ears. I guess winning lots of hands is an idea for starters.

Shall I e-mail you a few bullet-points from that book you used to borrow?

High-low split poker by Ray Zee - still not convinced that is his real name but you get the point..

Ha, it's incred that his name is Ray Zee, but that seems to be genuine.

I actually read a copy of that book recently, though whether I should be reading anything aimed at "advanced players" is moot of course.

And this - allegedly - is Mr Ray Zee.

You should be OK for tomorrow's (Friday) $10,000 PLO8 though - that has Late Reg until the start of Day 2.

Don't worry about bokking me Tikay, most of it is just banter.   I wouldn't want you and Marky to pop round on the bubble, but other than that you are fine.   Also don't announce you've got this when villian had anything above 0.0% equity.

It is a bit first world problems, but the lack of a gap for rest is a worry.  Sure I'll jump straight into the mixed O8, well maybe after a starbucks and chill.  If I do go deep in this I should play the 10k, but then I'll be on day 4/5 of bad sleep and late nights.  I was struggling late on day 1 and it isn't getting better.   Will see how I feel.

Good luck Tikay.  Just play your A game and don't read a book from the 1950s.

Meanwhile, a few odds & ends.

I bumped into Phil Clarke yesterday (Phil the Power on blonde) & he tells me he's been reading the Diary daily. I raised him, but he called.

He's here with Stato & a few others. Phil is staying here (The Rio) & the others are over at Venetian or Wynn I think. Like me, they have a car & zoom cross to Walmart or Smiths every few days to top up on food, drinks & nibbles.

Phil was playing the Wynn $1,000 PLO yesterday, so fingers crossed he or Stato got a result.

They are just playing regular PLO stuff around Town I gather.

Then this morning, I stood next to Ross Boatman in the Starby queue & we had a good natter. He looks great, really does, though he tells me that he is "resting" at present, one of the perils of being a thespian I guess. I like him very much, ditto his Big Brother who I also spent a little time exchanging pleasantries with on Tuesday. I can't recall the last time I nattered with Ross - might have been Deauville in 2004 or 2005, when THM were involved in that nasty legal business with Mr I Have Forgotten His Name. Began with a P, 100% sure. It all ended well for THM though I believe, think Joe did a great deal when he sold to GPI at exactly the right time I suspect. I hope it did anyway, they are good guys, all of them.

Bumped into these three Gents in the Rio corridor too, Messrs Doobs, Stu Rutter & Phil "The Tower" Heald, the latter wearing a very natty cap exactly the same as I shall be wearing today, though I shall wear mine at a jaunty angle to suggest a degree of attitude.

Best value tournament for all round o8 player since they introduced it 2? Years ago.
That said I had a shocking 1st table last year without much dead money until it broke .
It’s very important early to watch who is playing what sort of hands and how fast in the pl games as that’s where big mistakes are made early, remember most people hardly ever play big o too .

Oh my, what a memory. Think you were about 99% with a card to come & I blurted out "well done David"......

Think that was at Aria & I've never played there since.

Thanks Rob. And yes, I'll be watching tricks closely for a few levels to see who is doing what, & what sort of stuff they turn up with.

Despite a bit of a barren run, I'm looking forward to it immensely.

How are things at home now?
