Well we had to rush Charlie in to a specialist after a very bad episode last night, it's been a brutal 24 hours but the surgery was a success. There are potential side effects, most notably he is now more at risk for getting pneumonia, but we may have bought an extra six months, one year, maybe even two years of good quality life for him if we are lucky.

All being well we can fetch him tomorrow morning.

Yep back home with him now and real joy at the moment. Two days ago all it would take would be a walk across the living room and he would be gasping for air, somebody might knock on the door and he would get so excited he would start choking. Today he is as quiet as a church mouse and very chilled out (though he is on drugs).

The vet has signed the dog off to go about and live his life as normal. Only thing we can't do is let him eat dusty food like biscuits, crisps, pizza crusts etc as that can get dust in his lungs. He sounds terrible (grunting, this weird aggressive whistle when he gets excited) and that is going to be around forever, but it's cosmetic, no pain at all. Eventually the disease that cause his larynx to go into paralysis will eventually take his back legs, but *most* of the time that is years from now.

So chuffed to bits, he is 11.5 right now and I'd love to get him to a teenager.

You'd pay $500 to avoid mingling in an open friendly party environment right now, not the other way round.  Vegas tho, so may as well start as you mean to go on?

Seen on Twitter. God knows what Rate My Breakfast would have made of it.
